My question is this, how can one improve on his flaws if the level of opposition is maintained at such a low level? I'm not saying be thrown to the lion's den. No, it all has to be done gradually. I see little advancement in that record.
here is wilder fighting one of the fatest ****s to ever step in a ring , the chap is a joke . is wilder with a big promoter ???/ This content is protected [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUlfI5VlZuY[/ame]
By training hard and constantly preparing a match. He isnt fighting them to learn, he is fighting them to have some goals in his training. Training that will improve him enough, to eventually go against tougher opponents
:good That's exactly right. Wilder's raw enough to where there's still alot of improvement to be had just by going through training. Once he gets some more progress there, he'll be able to take the next step and fight tougher guys to hopefully progress further. The only problem I have is that I remember hearing him say he wanted a title shot sometime this year, and that's just not a wise move by any measure. Saying stuff like that, it's going to make alot of people much more impatient and critical of his current opposition than they otherwise would be.
Wilder's chin.....is less than sufficient, put nicely. He is susceptible to being badly KO'ed in any given fight. Seems his people are aware of that fact. He did get a late start in the sport, so something can be gleaned from him just staying active. Will be interesting to see how much he develops before he's in there with a beltholder.
:yep:yep:yep No wonder he hasn't stepped it up, that fat **** flattened him. I would seriously say that at least 20% of the people reading this page are a massive step up from that tubby ****. :rofl
When Nichols fought Mazyck there were 750lbs in the ring plus the referee! That's a weight of a whole card is certain areas of the world.
His chin is Grade A China, which is why he's fighting stiffs. As soon as he faces a live body, he's getting laid out.
Agreed. Wilder is staying busy while working on things in the gym. Despite his olympic medal he has a lot to learn still. I'll admit this current guy looks to be pretty bad. Wilder had stepped it up some in his last couple fights. Sconiers and Abron were steps up from who he had fought and I thought he might keep fighting guys in that range so I'm surprised they are fighting a guy this bad but in the overall scheme of things for Wilder its no big deal as long as he fights often. I suspect his team also likes the fact he has won all his fights by ko and aren't going to ruin that anytime soon, big ko percentages are very marketable especially with heavyweights. In two years time if he's still fighting the same guys then he should be embarassed but as long as he stays active and improves I'm certain he'll up his competition.
Wilder is very raw, he was raw when he did better than expected and actually medaled. He started boxing late and needs to learn how to be comfortbable in the ring. I would say his team selected the wrong trainer for him though. Mark Breland shouldn't be anywhere next to a pro prospect. He should ahve went the Steward route.
