how good is wilders stamina ? What are the chances he gasses himself out early going for the KO and gets knocked out later down the stretch from exhaustion.
Doesnt he just go big for the KO in all his fights from the very 1st bell as it is? I get the impression his stamina is not wonderful but it seems plenty to get by with. Dont get me wrong id never rule out a Fury knockout cuz i dont think Wilders chin is great and Fury can hit hard enough, they all can in this division if they land a sweet one.
Wilder doesn't press fights has a a low defense guard( less energy) and is about 25 pounds less then the typical 6'7 boxer would be. Hes not running out of stamina unless you knock it out of him.
His stamina will be tested very early on i think. When they get close and Fury leans all over him, Fury is one big man and that sheer size leaning all over you pushing you down is going to take something out of Wilder, it has too... That's where it is won for me, and Fury the winner by stoppage around the 10th.
I have various concerns about Wilder, but stamina isn't one of them. He's basically a basketball player who boxes, in terms of physique. And we know he carries power late.
His gas tank is better than his chin and his willingness to take tough fights. But his gas tank is average at best
It depends on if Fury goes to the body early. Wilder's background in basketball and the fact that he stays in shape year round puts his stamina head and shoulders above all of the other active heavyweights. Ortiz was the first opponent to make Wilder show signs of fatigue because he kept attacking Wilder's body, but stopped attacking the body in the later rounds due to his own fatigue. However, Wilder unlike Joshua, Parker, Whyte, and Miller isn't going to gas just from throwing punches.
Good for a power puncher, he's not a non stop active guy but he knows how to pick his punches to save energy and doesn't really get gassed out.
Wilder is packing a glass jaw, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if he gets KOd. On the other, Fury's whiskers aren't the sturdiest either, so this fight is really a case of who lands the first solid shot on the other guy's fragile mandible.
