While a lot of the criticism aimed at Wilder is justified given his less than stellar opposition thus far, he is an interesting fighter with his flaws and wild, messy style along with the death-touch knockouts. Some boxing fans can be a bit snobby (for lack of a better term) when it comes to appraising his talents. If he keeps getting results when he eventually steps up the competition some people may have to re-think if maybe there is method to his madness and that his style is more deliberate and strategic than appears.
Fighters of the past such as the revered but mysterious Harry Greb were compared favourably to windmills. Deontay may just have rediscovered a forgotten style of fighting which coupled with his dimensions appears uncoordinated but is actually a refined, well honed (if highly unorthodox) style tailored to his strengths.

LOL! Somehow I don't think Wilders will be immortalized like Marcianos was.

Rudy and Kevin Willis like this.

Wilder only fights winos from they alley. When will he fight a real fighter? Five voluntary title defenses in a row! The talk about Oritz is probably fake, VADA will frame Ortiz like they did Povetkin, only Povetkin was cleared by VADA, but that was not good enough for the WBC! Protecting Wilder is the WBC's first priority.................I still think Wilder will fight Stiverne, because Stiverne is old, fat, out of shape, over the hill, never was a good fighter, it's a set-up fight..................

why are you sorry? odds are he'd wipe the floor with the guys from the seventies and eighties too. modern athletes are definitely losing fundamentals and heart. but they make up for it with infinitely better athleticism.

Last time I saw him being interviewed about a comeback he was waxing melodic about how famous he would be if he permanently REMAINEd retired and unbeaten. His facial expression was as one who had suddenly been blessed with the beatific vision. Whether poverty can extinguish the euphoria of that cherished expectation of notorious fame that seems to have Trysome Funny presently enthralled only time will tell. To be honest, it's not at all difficult for me to imagine him in extreme old age about to expire on his death bed contentedly chuckling happily about it.

    Lol.

I like Wilder, hilarious dude and exciting fighter. Granted he takes often disgraceful opponents.
