Wilder has now overtaking Rocky Marciano, Jack Dempsey, John Ruiz, Chris Byrd, Jess Willard, James J. Corbett and John L. Sullivan in cumulative title defences. He’s well on his way to overtaking Holyfield and Tyson. This is the making of a legend. He’s already in the history books.

Not quite. Some of the fighters you mentioned held the complete title not just a part of it. If Wilder also gets the WBA, IBF, and WBO then his defenses can start being compared to Tyson, Marciano, and other old timers.

Tyson successfully defended the WBC, WBA, and IBF titles a total of Six times and also won back to back unification bouts.
