I thought Ortiz was part of the youth rebellion of 1959 in Cuba

At Heavyweight it does, because that's where Floyd's "record" actually originates from. Even notorious bumbashers couldn't make Marciano's 49-0, because at HW it's just so much harder.
At lower weights the streak records are much higher (87-0 and 101 in a row I believe), but at HW even beating 50 bums in a row has been too much to ask. Certainly because at such streaks, bigtime money usually persuades them to step up (and fail)

The record doesnt matter its the achievements that came with it, since there is no room for growth Wilder would have to completely unify and knock off every #1/2 contender in a long continuous run to get close to the level. I mean ppl try to hate on Floyd but at 40 the dude retired as a 2 weight unified lineal champ and basically the undisputed WW Champ, its not to many fighters doing that in their prime let alone for a whole career

It wouldn't matter if he did because nobody cares now and nobody will care then.

I actually believe Wilder could do it, because only he would be shameless enough to fight the type of nondescript opposition he does another dozen times in the face of so much pressure to step up. And only Wilder would be delusional enough to think it'd be something special if he did so. Well, him and his retinue of moronic fans of course.

I say go for it Dee-ohn-tahy. It's the only feasible achievement you'll ever possibly attain in your pathetic career.

The ever-increasing depths that Wilder's absurd revisionism seems capable of plunging to will never cease to amuse me. Just in the past twelve months:

    - **** on Tyson's resume
    - Said he'd knock out Joe Louis
    - Compared himself to Lennox Lewis
    - Said he will eclipse Floyd's resume
    - Said he will beat Foreman's record and reign for another 13 years.

All the while his best win remains Bermane Stiverne. Dunning-Kruger effect at its finest, ladies and gents.

Brian Nielsen made 49-0 as a HW.

So erm, Deontay you continuing to avoid the best is not going to put you in the history books.

Most people here will be asking Brian who these days.:eatingburger

Floyd got to 50-0 by boxing dozens and dozens of top 10 boxers. Many of them elite boxers, some of them top 10 P4P boxers.

Wilder got to 39-0 by boxing ONE.. ONE single Top 10 boxer. The rest were obese bus drivers, hobbyists, or top #75 boxrec guys who got the fight on 3 weeks notice to make sure they can't prepare.

Lmao this argument is always so silly. That's like if a doctor completely botches a surgery and kills your wife, then you have no right to complain because you couldn't even do a simple appendix removal. You don't have to be a carpenter to know a shitty house when you see one.

Wilder seems to be living in a world increasingly divorced from reality. I thought he was trolling at first, or intentionally saying controversial stuff for the sake of headlines, but now I think he genuinely believes everything he says. I wouldn't be surprised if he's suffering from some early onset degenerative brain condition, since I can't remember him acting this dumb or delusional before. That's about the only way I can account for his bizarre behaviour anymore.

This guy sure has a high opinion of himself for someone who only throws wild haymakers with his eyes closed.

If wilder manages to become undisputed, beats the record, and takes down some top ten contenders along the way, I dont want to hear any nonsense about how his era was "weak" and backpeddling calling joshua/parker/fury/miller bums after all the circle jerk praise you guys gave them.
