Leave him, he's raw. Give him time to fill out.

This is a rare opportunity to watch possibly the next Great American HW from ... literally ... the ground up.

    Enjoy it!

Don't hate. The kid has almost NO amateur experience and still has the frame of a basketball player. Give him a chance to become a boxer.

Shouldn't be on television then. How do you know he's gonna be so good with no amateur experience? Because he's got a good physique?!

He wins silver at the Olympics as the least experienced boxer that went on the American team.
Does it mean he's going to be great? No.
But he has size, he has speed, he's very athletic, very naturally talented.
All he has to do is put some skill and some upper body muscle into that body which he is doing pretty well so far.

Why shouldn't he be on TV? Why shouldn't he open up FNF?
    He's not headlining. It's not a PPV.

I must be thick. I don't understand what the problem is with actually PROMITING a fighter... When all over the boxing world the biggest problem is young boxers not getting enough exposure what's wrong with Wilder getting some?

The kid is going to be something special....trust me. All he has to do is develop a left hand to go along with that TnT right hand.

How can you criticize a guy who is just starting out? Guys don't start out fighting contenders. They start from the ground up. Wilder has talent. Is he Michael Grant? Only time will tell, but damn, give him time...he has a lot of time to grow as a fighter. Bums are on the menu right now, so get used to it. Don't lie to us and say you won't watch his fight, but then switch to the main event...lol. At this stage, guys are put in with guys who might have a big right, a big left, a left or right hook that they specialize in. Trainers don't just throw well rounded fighters in with their guy yet until like 10-15 fights if that.

You don't obviously, but it indicates pretty decent talent if you can win an Olympic bronze in less than 20 amateur bouts. And obviously he has great length, decent power and great speed for his size. Chin, stamina, heart, desire - who knows, but they're question marks for all prospects.

Less than 30, actually. He had 22 when he won the Olympic Trials.

With the state of US HW boxing right now...
within' a years time, he should be snatched up by a major network & built as "Who Nex!"
(If he continues to win, That is)

Kid has alot of raw talent, I'll watch him.

I'll always be a Deontay Wilder fan, you don't see too many guys from Alabama doing big things right now in boxing or making waves as someone to look out for.
