Deontay Wilder In The 70s

I'm pretty sure Wilder would lose more than two fights in his career had he fought 90 fights in his career. He already lost two fights and had half of the fights Shavers did.

 

Wilder lost to Tyson Fury, the World Champion. Shavers lost to Bob Stallings.

A guy who was losing rounds to Gerald Washington and who loses every round he's in usually until he lands a big punch.

I have no confidence picking him over that Ali unless it's the completely shot Ali who fought Berbick or Holmes who was clearly in the early stages of Parkinsons. I could pick him over that Ali but I'm still not totally confident at all. Hes got no jab and is going to be winging the right hand windmill all night. Compare that to someone like Bowe who I would take to cause serious harm to Ali. I wonder how far your Wilder love goes. How do you see Wilder vs Bowe, prime Bowe.

 

Yes, very embarrassing to pick a guy who knocked out everyone he faced, and who dropped a guy twice in their first fight, to win by a knockout in the return. How crazy of me. I must've been high. His KO percentage was only around 98 percent at that time.

Tell us more how Earnie Shavers was never more than a fringe contender based on your "extensive" 20 seceonds of "research" scanning boxrec because you don't know anything about the 70s fight scene but call yourself 70sfan?

He didn’t start doing that until some of his later fights. He did it against Washington on purpose, not because he was actually struggling. It’s not analogus to what he might do against Ali.

 

Deontay Wilder has fought 45 times, and he was behind on the cards when a fight ended in THREE fights (his last three).

That's not quite losing every round.

 

He struggled against Molina, getting hurt and looking very tired before pulling off the KO. I think Ali can do better than Molina. He lost about 4 rounds to the French bum Dauhaupa or something. Washington was winning rounds fairly easily. Ortiz, at the age of 50, won almost every round apart from the ones where he got hurt. Not to mention Wilder being wobbled and looking gassed in several fights.

You are talking about a guy with a shitty jab, poor left hook, throwing a right hand until he lands. No inside game at all. You avoided the Bowe question also. I suspect you think Wilder could beat one or more of Bowe, Holyfield, Lewis, Tyson. I'm not saying the guy doesn't have a punchers chance against anyone but he's not a technician. You have to expect him to be losing fights to good fighters unless he manages to land a big punch. That's going to be his legacy.
