Are you dense or what? Swag said he would take Wilder over 1977 Ali, but he said in different post that he wouldn't take him over 1970s Ali.

This thread isn't about replacing Shaver with Wilder, even 1975 Ali was much better than the one Shavers faced

 

I said I would take him over THE VERSION OF ALI THAT SHAVERS FACED. Not the best version of '70s Ali. For the record I'd also favor Wilder over a '73 Holmes, and '76 Frazier. Doesn't mean I'd favor him over the best 70s' renditions of them.

 

You never said anything like the "BEST" version of Ali. I copied and pasted exactly what you wrote. The word BEST isn't anywhere in there.

I never said "the best version of Ali" because I thought it was obvious to anyone with a brain (you obviously don't qualify), favoring Wilder over '77 Ali and favoring the best rendition of 70s Ali over Wilder weren't mutually exclusive.

I didn't insist Liston was any age, nor do I know. 1940 census indicates his birthyear is 1929/30. 1950 census indicates his birthyear is 1922/1923. Newspaper records indicate his birth year is 1927. Doctor's estimates have him born between 1923 and 1926.

It's a mystery, and nobody truly knows and if they say they do, they're lying (like yourself).

IS that how far we've come to try to protect Shavers now? We can't actually compare how Wilder would do against the guys Shavers actually fought, we have to compare them to guys he fought ... but BETTER versions than those Shavers faced?

How does Shavers do against the ABSOLUTE BEST version of Fury three times? (Can't play the "30% cherry pick Fury" game that way, can we?)
