I saw the video of Mike Tyson getting dropped by Greg Page in sparring, too. That doesn't mean Mike Tyson was "knocked out twice" by Greg Page, right?

    Right?

    RIGHT?

Again, if you have to bring up a sparring story from 2012 in order to bash Deontay Wilder as we're about to celebrate 2021, YOU LOSE.

Just like if you have to bring up Greg Page to bash Tyson, you lose.

Wilder was WBC champion for FIVE YEARS. He was the longest reigning heavyweight champ in the 2010s. He made 11 title defenses (two against the current WORLD champ).

Only Wlad, who entered the decade already a champ for several years reigned longer THIS century.

So you can take your "he was KOed twice in sparring" nonsense and leave it in 2012. Seriously.

“If I was the trainer, wouldn’t I know about it? I’m the one who picked Wilder and all the other sparring partners to come. It’s not true…

“Did Deontay Wilder get knocked out cold in sparring by Wladimir? No, that’s the truth it didn’t happen. I was in the ring as they were sparring. I didn’t catch that one.” -
    Jonathan Banks, Wlad Klitschko's trainer.

If you want to keep stomping your feet, knock yourself out. He's not even a beltholder anymore. He's already in the record books. You can't do anything about it.

With that ... I'm out. Good meeting.

According to Ring top 10, Wilder has fought around 6 top 10 fighters, AJ around 6, Fury 2

Agreed. Wilder’s a limited fighter with a special right hand. Whyte’s style/approach would see him KO’d very early in my view.

True he has a relatively soft resume, but his power is most certainly real. Boxing skills not apparent.

Wilder's WBC reign could very well be the weakest of all heavyweight reigns that lasted 5 or more years.

Considering the only other 5 continuous year WBC HW reigns were Ali, Holmes, and Vitali, he's still breathing rarefied air.

But that's because historically speaking the WBC is new

You also had guys like Corbett, Jeffries, Johnson, Dempsey, Louis

These are still only historic greats, meanwhile Tyson, Lewis, and Frasier all got close and fell short.

Say what you will about anything else, it is a very impressive achievement to be that consistent as a HW champion. Fighters who much higher peaks also had lower troughs.

I think Foreman would have ended Wilders reign.

But Douglas and Rahman, no way.

    His consistency is impressive.

Tyson dominated for about 2 years.

Wlad dominated long and had a pretty weak resume too, but we don't bash him anymore.

In weak eras, you expect the 'champ' to take all comers. Wlad did, Wilder didn't. HUGE difference
