You are missing the point. Outside of Wilder being on shaky legs, he was neither floored, cut or injured for his break. The extra time was given to him by the referee, who didn't seem to mind Wilder hitting after the bell or nailing Ortiz with rabbit punches.

Hardly a fair referee.

I posted a poll in the general forum asking were the judges and the ref in the tank for Wilder. 30 says yes, just 3 say no.

Wow, That's about as one-sided as it gets. Are all 30 who felt the ref and judges were biased " haters " Dubble Chin? Of course not. So stop being so defensive when people point out the only thing square last night was the ring.

Yes, Tunney got a long count, but if you watch the video, he's looking at the ref as soon as 4 seconds on the count, and he got up and showed sturdy and mobile legs. There was controversy there, but Tunney won 18 of 20 rounds vs. Demspey in both fights.

Wilder, on a good card, was down 7 rounds to 2 going into the 10th round, and got his break without any knockdown, missing mouth piece, or injury. So his break is unique, and happened when he needed it most.

Wilder, unlike Baer, will not be in the boxing hall of fame.

 

If you want to say top 3, I won't argue. Povetkin's bans hurt him, though.

Yeah, it would be very nice to see him against better opp. Strange that he hasn't faced more quality so far, being a pro for 10 years with 40 fights.

 

I think behind all that bravado Wilder ain't half as confident as he let's on. Maybe he's been avoiding the big names for a reason? Lastnight would have done the world of good for him, now he knows he can survive shots off one of the biggest hitters in the division.
