In theory, yes, he could take a fight with Joshua next. And in that case, I and everyone else who calls this an unparalleled duck will have eggs on our faces.

But it's so hard to see the sene in such a course on action. I mean, he was guaranteed 20 mil just for the Brezeale fight and is probably not going to make more than the standard 2-3 mil now. So that's probably 17-18 mil down the drain right there. So he must get offered more than 100 mil for two fights with AJ for this to make any sense, and that seems such an unnecessary gamble to make.

So much can happen. He can lose, AJ can lose. Or, more likely, AJ and Fury will square off and the winner of that fight will hold all the cards if negotiations for a fight with Wilder should start again. If an aging Wilder won't have lost his belt by then, in which case he'll be totally irrelevant.

It just seems such an outside chance that he will get a better offer than the one he already turned down, so why turn it down if they're even considering taking the fight? I just can't see the answer to that question.

    Lol... I hear you.

But for me, in a sport where the likes of Tyson are beloved, in a sport filled with drug cheats, absentee fathers, sexual abusers and women beaters.... I question the rationality of the level of disdain for wilder, compared to his actions and to that of his peers.

When I add into the hypocrisy and double standards... its irrational to me.

Wilder fighting AJ’s leftovers from 2016, what a joke!

Wilder failed to KO 140 pound Charlie Z.
The same Charlie Z, who got beat up by Mayweather senior.

He would whip you in 3 seconds like I said!

    You have no chin man!

    And can't throw hands!

You're a wimp man, you'd be scared shitless just facing him!

Fury is milking it and very unlikely to fight Joshua anytime soon, if ever.

Wilder and Joshua are in communication. Wilder didn’t sounds like he doesn’t want a multifight deal. It could still happen.

Just hard to see how he could get an improved offer.

If Fury gets offered anything close to what Wilder was offered, I think he takes it.

Wilder isn’t likely to get a better offer, but if it’s a one fight deal with a rematch clause, that’s better in his head.

Fury tied himself down fighting cans. He’s not fighting Joshua or Wilder this year.

But he's having what have would have been the first fight of three anyway. Just getting paid about a tenth of what he would get if he accepted the offer.

So if he's looking at a two fight deal with AJ after this fight he's already down 17-18 mil compared to if he'd signed the deal for the exact same fights. Seriously doubt that's the plan.

How do you know what he's being paid? Showtime didn't announce it. They obviously made it worth his while to decline the other offers for this SINGLE fight. And he was ready to walk a couple days ago. So it's obviously not the same-old same-old.

Ok, let's say he gets 4 instead of the usual 2. Hell, let's be generous and say 6. He's still down 14 mil.

You're lost. The competing markets let Showtime know what Wilder's value was. Showtime PAID to keep him there for this fight.

And they're going to promote the hell out of this fight, watch it generate more viewership than the ESPN+ and DAZN apps can generate combined, and leave his options open to make a PPV fight with anyone he wants next.

People have said for years Wilder "should be" a big star in the U.S.

    And it has begun.

They're looking at Wilder and Spence becoming the next Floyd Mayweather in terms of money.

The market spoke as to what Wilder's value is.

And Showtime paid to keep him there for this fight.
