Deontay Wilder - living proof U.S doesn't care about Heavyweights

    Why stop at heavyweights? The USA doesn't care about boxing in general like it used to care about boxing unless one looks at the Spanish-speaking demographics, then boxing is still doing well.

    For the English-speaking masses in the USA boxers in general aren't so much public figures as they were decades ago. No commercials, no talk show appearances, no Sports Illustrated articles about boxing, or more like, very scant articles about boxers, bouts, boxing in general.

    I think Wilder did reasonably well but due to how boxing has changed over the years the boxing audiences has dwindled in numbers. I think PPV and subscription television has been like a cancer for boxing.
