Wilder didn't struggle as badly as some people say he did. He was never in danger. That being said, it still took him 11 rounds to get Duhaupas out of the ring. He didn't look great against a very overmatched and limited opponent. To be honest there weren't many positives for Wilder for the second straight fight. And to date he really still has only one win against a world level opponent. He is 30 years old, and an Olympic medalist. That is painfully poor opposition. If he continues to fight these unheard of guys it will continue to hurt his brand and his career. Many casual fans contacted me tonight and were not impressed at all. Said they won't tune into him again.
Haven't watched it myself but it sounds like Wilder did good. Dan Raphael said that Duhaupas took massive a beating. http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/i...pas-11th-round-maintain-wbc-heavyweight-title
:good ive tried to not be too critical of wilder, giving him the time to develope, but his team doesnt seem to want to develope him. i will watch it first chance i get, to see if its a case of duhaupas being better than his record, or wilder just finding his level.
Duhaupas was tough, and has a good chin. So I don't fault Wilder not being able to bomb him out in 1-2 rounds like everyone wants him too. However Duhaupas was very slow, and extremely easy to hit, I was surprised it took as long as it did and that Dihaupas was able to hit Wilder as much as he did. He just had 0 power other than a decent jab. Not a good jab- but average. Put it this way I was unimpressed. I think Wilder can beat some heavyweights better than Duhaupas and I think he could pull off an upset here and there as his career goes along. But do I think he will ever be a dominant champion. No not by a long shot. I believe he will lose in the next year if he fights either Wlad or Povetkin. That doesn't make him terrible. Just not elite.
Why even watch Beyonce fights. He's just another one of Haymon's cash cows milking money from the public while fighting nobodies as a champion. Despicable. That he's also a lowlife pos & fraud makes it that much easier to just not tune in. You guys should learn some selfcontrol...unless u have nothing else to do in which case get a life lol.
he has improved quite a bit since the ams and his early career. he did infinitely better against firtha than did fury. scott either has a terrible glass jaw, or took a dive.
Scott is not the only one of Wilder's opponents to be paid to lose. There is a lot of money behind Wilder. There must be a lot of money for such an unschooled, crude, poor fighter to inexplicably become WBC champion having fought one top 50 fighter in the world. (And he as you say took a frigging dive) Who else would have pockets deep enough to bribe the WBC like that?:hi:
