So apparently Deontay Wilder wants to face Lucas Browne next for an unification bout if Browne gets past Chagaev. He is still looking to avoid Povetkin, just strip him ffs! :patsch

Povetkin is the one pushing back the date for his Baptism.

    Wilder wants him badly.

Wilder ain't scared of no Russian doughboy. He's said he wants to KO and put Povetkin to rest consistently and many many times.
No one really wants to fight in Russia. Nobody.

LOL, not even Povetkin wants the fight to happen in Russia and has said even he'd prefer to fight in the US.
It's Povetkin's manager who is insisting on the bout taking place in Russia.
Probably because he is afraid that Povetkin will get KO'ed if he isn't given that "special" Russian protection only available in Russia.

I actually like the Brown - Wilder fight better anyway. Many former champions have been saying good things about Lucas, but no body says shet about Povetkin.

Then he should be stripped no questions asked.... That said Browne is getting exposed badly next month by Chagaev anyways so looks like Wilder is out of luck

Unifications are the most important thing right?

    Unification's trump mandatory fights

Wilder could have had a Unification with Martin........However Joshua made more $en$e for Mr. Martin.
Here in the US your absolutely not getting a large following taking a safe path.
A Povetkin win is a must to ever have a shot as a ppv star, and even then he will probably not be ppv on his own in this country.
He'll need additional big wins to secure ppv star status.
Same goes for GGG while I'm at it, lol.

Wilder will do anything possible to avoid his mandatory Povetkin, watch even if the fight gets made via purse bids, he'll drop out claiming injury and want to postpone....Povetkin will take a tune up and he'll think he has a pass to fight another no-hoper

You are correct although beating Povetkin won't have much effect on Wilder's star status.
Povetkin has very little exposure in the US and the majority of casual fans don't even know who he is.
In the US, a Wilder-Martin fight would be bigger and Wilder-Ortiz would be bigger still.
