Scene seems credible enough to me.

So we are saying a 14 year old (b 1969, making him 47-48 now) Luis Ortiz beat Sweat Pea circa 83-84, when he was absolutely cleaning out the am's scene?

Some of the most laughable posts I have ever seen here @ eastside

Haha, now people are saying this

Not only that but Wilder's camp has too many leaks. The boxing press seems to know everything real that's going on with him. Lists of possible opponents, plans, schemes, the whole 9. So I believe it.

I have been saying this as well but certain people need to see this fight (not talking about Wilder's detractors).

Roughly. Which is why we're mostly moving away from that claim I believe.

Personally, I think it sounds too far fetched, yes.

Perhaps imagine Ortiz was roided to the gills though (which is perhaps possible in Cuban ams). Maybe then it's slightly less ridiculous.

Or perhaps Ortiz did fight him, but lost. That still has the same implications about his age.

You have to love and admire the unflinching belief Wilder fans have, it's truly amazing.

Another rumour of a "Big Fight" for Wilder against a "Big Name", let's be honest he has had quite a few of these rumours before and then served up the likes of Szpilka, Arreola and Washington.

Yet another rumour and they are straight on it, it's actually funny, seeing them giving him credit for a rumour :risas3:

Has he? That were published on (relatively) credible news sites?

    Earnest question.

But I think we all acknowledge it might not happen. This is all about if it happens.

If it happens, Wilder does deserve respect.

I will believe it when I see them in the ring but if Wilder does go to this, credit to him for ----finally--- being willing to defend against good opponents that Bring an actual threat

If it does happen- Ortiz to win by knockout

I'll believe it when it gets finalized and officially announced. This is such an out of left field move in the trajectory of Wilder's career to this point that I can't help but be skeptical. I'd be for happy for Ortiz as he'd finally get his long awaited crack at a title. If he isn't too washed up he should stop Wilder.
