Referring to the mindset, speak it, believe it receive it, he has inspired me to not have that mindset, where you blame everything and everyone for your failure. Top 10 excuses 1. Costume to heavy (I’ve heard that he also thinks it may have been to sparkly and shiny) 2. Tampered gloves (fury) 3. His trainer was spiking his water (was willing to take breland to court and ruin his reputation) 4. Gypsy juju magic (this is actually quite racist, if it was the other way around and fury called it voodoo it would have been deemed racist) 5. Referee favouritism (I didn’t see this but it’s was clear to see the favouritism he received when he faced Ortiz and the ref got the doc to look at his cuts he didn’t have) 6. Slow count (again this is plausible but it is worth noting that it is the refs 10 count not actually 10 seconds count) 7. Torn bicep (would be plausible if we hadn’t already heard the costume one, if you can’t handle a heavy costume then you wouldn’t be fighting with a torn bicep) I think wilders career ended perfectly by getting knocked out by Zhang the little spin and then bang perfection. The whole boxing community should have cut him off as soon as he accused breland of spiking his water, that was the lowest thing I have ever seen or heard in this sport. Good riddance to a lowlife champ. This content is protected
Sure Deontay keep fighting if you wish, but after your laast 2 losses do not be expecting any big paydays, if you willing to fight for pennies i'm sure there are plenty of opportunities.
Wilder is going to find out fighting once every two years is not going to work out well for him. And until he finds his right hand again and gains the confidence to use it, instead of throwing it scared like in his last two fights, he'll just be a KO waiting to happen. And if he doesn't get KO'd, he'll just do nothing but move around for 12 rounds enroute to a UD loss. Nobody wants to see that.
Wilder doesn’t have that mean streak anymore but there still can be some fun fights for him as long as Turki is willing to hand them out.
There are still some interesting match ups that can be made for Wilder. I'd like to see him face Joyce, Joshua, and Chisora.
I wouldn't use that statement to keep my beer cool. "Chilling statement" lol. Gotta back up what you say for the words to mean anything.
Could've. I'll never count a guy out that has the lights out power of Wilder. But to say, Wilder would've beat an elite boxer like Usyk is a bit of a stretch. Nobody on Wilder's resume leads me to believe he would have the upper hand against Usyk. Usyk has the ability to nullify Wilder's big right hand, once that happens, all that's left is a guy with very limited fundamentals.
Styles make fights. Southpaws are weak to right hand leads, Wilder had a lethal right hand lead. Wilder beat a skilled southpaw technician in Ortiz by KO 2x. Wilder won't agree to keep things at a room temperature pace the way Usyk prefers "boxing" at mid range and will be trying to pressure the Ukrainian with his unorthodox style. Usyk hates body shots and Wilder has decent spear jabs and right hands to the body. Wilder is also taller and has a longer reach than Usyk. The odds actually favor Wilder. Now IF Usyk managed to neutralize Wilder's right hand, then yes the match could swing back to him and he could outbox the Alabaman. But that's a big if. Usyk apparently thought Chisora was a monstrous puncher, he would be in for quite the shock against Wilder.
Agreed! But in this match up, with such a wide skill gap, I can't go against Usyk. My feeling is, Usyk has a better chance to neutralize Wilder's right than Wilder has of landing it. Also, Wilder telegraphs many of those big shots, I just don't see Usyk getting caught with it. Could Wilder land it, yes. Manybe a 10% chance. Again, I'll never count out any fighter that carries one punch power like Wilder.
