While true the ticket sales is usually an indication of the success of the PPV to come I doubt there has ever been a boxing PPV that did 1 mill buys that didn't have a huge live gate to go with it.

In fact if you look at a list of the top boxing PPV's almost all of these fights happened in Vegas, unlike this fight. Only 4 didn't happen in Vegas. One was a Pac/Margarito which had 30K paying fans in attendance, another was Lewis/Holyfield 1 at MSG, one was Lewis/Tyson at the Pyramid Arena in Memphis and the other was Holyfield/Foreman in Atlantic City.

Of these 4 fights outside of Vegas Holyfield/Foreman had the smallest attendance with 17K and that fight had notoriously high ticket pricing at the time. I highly doubt Wilder/Fury does 17K even if they give away tickets.

Eddie Hearn here states that the MAJORITY of tickets in the US market are sold on fight week

Danny Jacobs, Jared Miller only sell 4k tickets on Matchroom USA shows LOL

Don't worry, it's gonna do 2.5 million PPVs.

Speak it, believe it, receive it.

I don't know why anybody would be happy about this, if the PPV does poorly Wilder is still going to demand a split at least that of what Parker got while Hearn and Joshua aren't going to agree.

I really don't care how much Wilder gets paid to take the fight. I really just care that he takes the fight.

He'll make millions either way. His team had a shot to showcase him and are blowing it big time. It is their own damned fault.

Thats what kills me, I would have loved to have gone to seem them both go at it. Wilder has some following in the greater NY area and Bama, should have been either of those or Vegas.

If Wilder v Joshua happens, heres the thing, whos gonna $80 for a PPV when you can pay $9 to see it on DAZN?:lol::lol:. Wilder and Fury havent got a leg to stand on. The jealousy and spite of a pair of 3 year olds. If this fight does 150k - 200k PPVs, realistically it will be a success.

I’ve become interested in this fight beyond my initial level of just rubber necking at it as a spectacle, the reason, Tyson Fury’s levels of preparation and fitness.

Whatever happens, win lose or draw, you have to respect the hard work it must have taken for a man of Fury’s size to drop 10st in weight and get fitter than he’s ever been.

For the record, I’m sensing a Fury Win!

Not at all. Fury was out of boxing and has only had tuneup fights so far on his comeback. If the fight was in the UK it would have moved way more tickets.

    1. Everyone knew before this fight that barely anyone in the USA knows who Wilder is & Tyson Fury has built a reputation as a very boring yet effective fighter.

    2. If Eddie wants that lovely green WBC belt and if AJ wants to be the undisputed champion as Lewis and Wlad were then he needs to pay the going rate for that belt. Its the last one left and the most prestigious so get your cheque book out and stop being tight.

So we have not learnt anything from the lack of ticket sales here. The majority of money was always going to made from PPV and TV for this fight, as it has been for all of Wilders previous fights.

Has Wilder's team heard of sale and marketing as a concept? Wilder should be a really easy sell for American sports fans looking for another great HW. I think Wilder is more popular in the UK in actual fact, off the back of the interest we have in the sport here thanks to Frank and Eddie's hard work.

He isnt selling because they are not paying out enough in sales and marketing personnel or for advertising associated with that.

You need to invest in that to build your brand name. Marketing 101.
