He reminds me of a Hearns without the boxing ability and mobility.

Both tall, lean but shredded, with ATG atomic rights and suspect chins? Don't see any similarities style, skill, or technique-wise though.

Doubt anybody "measured" Ortiz, never heard of a commission measuring a fighter. Probably just some new numbers someone on his team listed without checking to see what they had listed before, and the poster who wrote this assumed Ortiz had been measured by the boxing commission. Whoever gave the new numbers probably just guessed/estimated. The only fighter that I know of who publicly had his wing span measured was Ali on Wide World of Sports. His arm span was 78" and it was measured by Dundee and can be seen on Youtube.

Ortiz does have long arms and he is wide so if his wing span is 78, it's safe to assume that few fighters in the history of boxing had a longer reach. Same with Ali, I never saw him fight where it looked like his opponent had a longer reach. I think you're right, many of the listed measurements are exaggerated.

Interesting how there is a popular sentiment that guys like Wilder and Ortiz are truly good SHWs, yet Max Baer and Primo Carnera aren't....

Weren't people laughing at posters picking Walcott over Ortiz? It's starting not to feel like Ortiz. who is about to get obliterated by Wilder, is as an imposing force as once insinuated.

Edit: I was going to predict a 1 round Wilder KO but he looks really sick. Like hes about to puke any second.

    Mechanically rather than technically.
    Stylistically he's like Max Baer.

Ortiz put on a helluva show for a man of his (unknown) age. Ate a few too many straight rights though. Props to Wilder for showing grit and heart, and showing smarts and patience in using his length and fight off his back foot when he felt Ortiz' counterpunching. Probably would have been curtains if he'd tried to jump on Ortiz more aggressively early.

    Wilder looked awful yet again.
Power bailed him out late. The cards were disgraceful I had Ortiz up 8-2 at stoppage.

Exciting finish but I was rooting for Ortiz a guy who has had a much harder path than Wilder has for big fights and was fighting Father Time as well as his opponent.

To me the only thing that proved the round 7 is how very overrated is wilder.ortiz is nobody and was very very close to knock him out badly, the bell saved him clearly.and this guy is saying that he would have beaten tyson in his prime? Please... After watching this i have no doubt about tyson killing him brutally type bruno inside 4- 5 rounds.
The punches from wilder are horrible and open very wild.next to him foreman looks ray Robinson landing punches

Foreman wouldn’t even look like Ray Robinson next to Butterbean. How was his punching technique any better than Wilder’s?

    Wilder has incredible punching technique.
It's not a 'boxing' technique. It's pure punching mechanics. Like Baer.

Wilder was off this night, he supposedly had the flu. He looked terrible, as in his health.
Ortiz, a 40 year old had him out-reflexed. Wilder won because his heart and his power.

Wilder would KO1 in a rematch imo.

Hell yeah, this is a historic match.
Wilder will make a mark with his legacy, and this will be one of several notable fights.
