wilder as stated he wont fight whyte
so joyce no2 is busy with no3
ruiz no4 is busy with no6
wilder should be made to fight the new no5
    for that belt
lol we all know he wont
hence that new number 5 is the reason i believe fury is going wants them all to age each other then come back
    dosser tactic

Wilder v Stiverne III for the vacant title? I believe Don King can work out his magic and make it happen.

This is why it looks like Fury could be serious and won't come back. Unless there is some money reasoning behind dumping the belt, now he's just lost the straightforward chance to become the unified champion, which is a hugely prestigious event in boxing. He was just one 'elite' fight away from that and he threw it away like an idiot. It's still possible for him to do it, but it would at least require more fights and possibly become very complicated if people avoid him or the belts scatter. Without the belt his bargaining power goes down, making the deals harder too. He could be the wrong side of thirty before the stars align again.

It's a bit like being a tennis player with three slams in one year and then you retire instead of going for the fourth and getting the elusive calendar slam. If you comeback, it's very hard to get three in one year again to put you in that position.

Fury may have just pulled one of the greatest clown moves in boxing history.

Wow thats surprising and good that Makhmudovs now high up. Thought it'd take till he was 40 to get a shot with his crap promoter. Now it looks likely.

Although Fury would school him and he probably doesnt know who he is.

It'd be hilarious if the WBC ordered Wilder vs Makhmudov for the vacant title. I think Wilder would run!

Looking at the wbc rankings only Helenius, Ortiz and Wallin are poor enough to be considered a realistic WBC mandatory opponent.

I would love it to be Sanchez, Bakole or Hunter but their far too good to be considered.

I thought Ortiz vs Ruiz was the title eliminator?

    August 3rd:

Andy Ruiz and “King Kong” Ortiz climb up to WBC eliminatory – World Boxing Council (wbcboxing.com)

This fight will be an elimination endorsed by the World Boxing Council, with the winner advancing to fight the Green and Gold Champion.

    As of today, August 15th:

WBC heavyweight status – World Boxing Council (wbcboxing.com)

The World Boxing Council has been in communications with Tyson Fury and his promoters regarding his status as WBC heavyweight champion.
The WBC has set Friday august 26th as the final day to receive official written confirmation from them.
No further comments will be made by our organization until then.

So the winner of ortiz/ruiz is supposed to fight for the belt next. But if Fury confirms his retirement, who does the winner of ortiz/ruiz fight for the vacant belt? Is there another elimination bout to determine that? Or does Wilder automatically get to fight for it?

    Logic would dictate -

Fury vs Ortiz winner vs Parker vs Joyce winner for the title.

I agree with Deontay Wilder fighting for the WBC belt if he fights the winner of Parker vs Joyce.

Maybe he fancies himself to follow in the footsteps of James J. Jefferies.

A big money fight will always be there for him for a few years yet. Though I agree IF Joshua wins on Saturday he is passing up silly money, but if Usyk wins as many expect he can just wait til the money of offer is enough to tempt him to come back.

He can basically sit this one out, train other fighters, keep himself in good nick whilst avoiding the wear and tear of championship level fights. Let the others clear the field for him once again, then come back to take on the champ.

It's not what I want as a fan, but...
