I know who said it and he wasn't exactly popular with the media at the time and many fans were turning against him too.
I can't remember everyone feeling it was a great and funny thing to say, so what's your point ?

Yes, they said the same s*** that they said before which is sweet FA.

They don't give a damn, and Wilder won't receive any punishment.

Yeah, Mike Tyson was a crazy guy but at least he was interesting. He had hundreds of quotable statements and did some crazy things. He was all over the place. There were thousands of reasons to hate Tyson, thousands of reasons to love Tyson, and thousands of reasons not to give a ****.

Deontay Wilder is just saying this one same thing over and over. It's about the only comprehensible thing he says. He wants to kill someone in the boxing ring. He's consistently said that.
    There's nothing more to it.

When Mike said that I was scared for Mike not Lewis. You could tell he was really in a bad/peak emotional state for about 18 months there. I was half expecting him to commit suicide around that time

Calling Deontay Wilder "stupid" is an insult to stupid people. He honestly appears to have an IQ of about 60.

So let's assume Wilder wins this fight, imagine the WBC strip him for his comments. I personally think they should, it's not like he legitimizes the belt in any way. Let Joshua fight for it, better yet make it vacant and make Joshua and wilder fight for it.

**** this clown. Doesn’t know his ass from the hole in the ground yet tries to come across as a bad ass gangster or something.
He’s either ****ed in the head or simply an idiot. Or both. In any case, while he digs his own grave by saying ridiculous stuff AND turning down tens of millions, certain few are lining their pockets thanks to his efforts.

Every boxer from today, should say they want to not only kill, but slaughter, torture, violate, and mutilate their opponents in front of their entire family members.

No, let's go a step further.... Every boxer should say this about every potential opponent they could potentially fight.

Of course, it's only just entertainment, why should any of it matter after all, right?

In the end, punching and boxing aren't the true entertaining part of boxing, but the speeches are. So of course, since the true entertainment value is found in what the boxers say, we should perhaps even reconsider the boxing side of boxing and give a bit more time on the speeches since it's obviously the TRUE ENTERTAINMENT as the boxing side of boxing isn't ENTERTAINING ENOUGH!

He's selling the fight by attempting to play the bad guy but there are boundaries to which the role can be played before the shtick becomes irresponsible, as is the case with anything taken to the extreme in life. This isn't about political correctness like some idiots are implying. Swear all you want, make ridiculous jokes, taunt boxers and their coaches and fans sure, don't go making light of death in a sport where blows to the head actually cause it to happen. It wasn't too long ago Stevenson was in a coma. mike tysons famous quote was so absurd all you could do was either laugh or brush it off as crazy showmanship. it's different when wilder matter of factly makes himself sound like a sadist with no underlying degree of facetiousness.

he's talking sensationalist **** like he's in a movie, quoting rocky no less. it's not funny, it's not charismatic either in an anti-hero or villainous sort of way, it's just obnoxious and all these edgelords and machiavellians lapping it up only make themselves look bad.

Wilder already has LOTS of stiffs on his record. In fact, about 30 or so of 'em. And yet he wants MORE???
