Is Wilder on to something or would Louis see the last bell? Keep in mind, Wilder is a 6 foot 7 rangy fighter who can hit hard as hell. Kind of like a giant sized Earnie Shavers.

Is Wilder like Buddy Baer in that he puts Louis down but keeps him down or is he like Buddy Baer in that Louis sends him spinning to the canvas?

I'd say Wilder's competition makes Joe's bum of the month club look like a murderer's row...

As sloppy and wide as he is, I seriously doubt Wilder lands a clean punch.

    Insane matchup. Fireworks, explosives.
One of the more dangerous matchups for Louis across the all time rosters.

Louis has to avoid the overhand right the whole night. I think he’d pick Wilder apart. Louis at his best, yessir.

Wilder need to fight better title defense before he talks fighting ATG.

Jesus, dude. This is one of Louis' easier defenses. Wilder is totally unproven and extremely protected. If you think his matchmaking thus far is only by accident then you have a great ability to suspend disbelief.

Okay, you're right. He needs to fight an Ortiz or Povetkin type opponent.
    Oh wait...

You can't give credit until it's earned through success.
But if your primary measurement for Wilder is the ease of his matchmaking so far, whew boy.

Clearly Wilder has never studied Joe Louis. He should NEVER mention himself in the same sentence as Joe Louis. Joe Louis would have picked this lanky chicken apart and finished him. Put it this way, Wilder would be a part of the bum of the month club.

Name me another 31 year old heavy toting a belt who has a less impressive resume.

The jury is out on Wilder as he is an incomplete work. But he shouldn't be making such ridiculous claims until he has at least beat a fighter on the Abe Simon level.

At 31 years old, and having 38 fights in NINE years as a professional, don't you think it is past time to Deontay Wilder begin to face top opposition? :D

Yeah I think Louis would pick him apart with combinations.

With or without the steroids in Wilder, Louis would destroy Wilder. It's typical of the heavy's in todays fight game to have wild opinions about their own skill level and greatness. But knowledgeable fight fans see him for what he is. A protected novice as far as real skills are concerned. I see so many mistakes he makes inside the ring. Especially when he's attacking. He gets totally undisciplined when he hurts a opponent, (a true indicator of his real skill level. Question? How many greats, or very goods got that crazy when they hurt their opponents?) throws wild round house shots that any top ten fighter from 20 yrs and earlier would easily avoid. Yes I know Louis didn't have the greatest chin but would novice fighters like Wilder and Joshua have the ability to reach it? Not when your launching right upper cuts from 4 feet away. (Just a sad testament of todays fighters and their lack of skills, that know one has the talent or know how to counter that obvious gift of their open chins ) Wilder andJoshua look good physically, but there from from skilled fighters. Both need to wake up and apologize to fighters from the past.

Wilder isnt fighting anyone who is like louis today. I highly doubt louis lasts long with some of the punches many were hit by wilder . Louis's open defense welcoming fighters to punch first while he parrys wouldnt work as well on a 6'7 fast puncher .Wilders over hand right would put Louis's lights out we know this bc others have rocked or knocked Louis down with the right hand.

i cant see Louis winning here unless he caught wilder standing still.Wilder has faults but being mobile isnt one of them. Far bigger reach and ability to off set jabs we seen what that could do to Louis .theres really no one louis fought like an athletic wilder and Wilders over hand right could find its mark easier. I know if you stepped in the ring with 6'7 wilder or 6'1 louis, who would be easier to land on .

You guys continue to compare resumes but Wilder isnt fighting a resume hes fighting louis. i would side with wilder on this one, both have faults and both arent the perfect fighter ,they are far from it. I didnt include louis in my top guys to defeat wilder bc lets be real the Conn fight shows louis's troubles with moving jabbers..this is what wilder does.and im sure Wilder would be much more threatening than Conn.

People are talking wild punches.yea Galento knocked louis down twice and that guy is no Wilder by any imagination even if you say he is...lol

Louis is to easy to hit with the over hand right ,for me to pick him here.

Buddy Baer also knocked Louis out of the ring, hes was also about 6'7 or so with less direct power ...he didnt even know how to jab .one has to look at actual matches of the fighters not resumes..it doesnt work like that. particulary the 1940's and 2017...come on now!
