head shake time. Without referring to the sub par competition of Wilder and without saying he is a poor fighter (he is obviously not terrible otherwise he would not be unbeaten despite who he has fought)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WS2XEV_Bj5U

This interview just tells you everything that is wrong about the bloke and a number of Americans. A few points from the interview

    - Would be willing to fight the Klitschko's tomorrow and thinks he could win
    - Klitschko's learnt a lot off him sparring together
    - Different between him, Price and Fury, according to Wilder is he has much more power in his right hand (Than Price, is he for real) better balance and athleticism (perhaps) and better skills

These are just a few points, could have picked up on more. The thing that is going to beat this bloke is his attitude. If he even boxed someone like Solis, out of shape but great technician, he would get picked apart. He is believing his own hype and is delusional, the problem with some American fighters. They get built up and lack humility and that will ultimately be his undoing

i'm american, i would like to see a decent guy this century, and have watched boxing since tyson broke out on the scene....and Wilder while he seems like a nice guy, means well, tries hard, great shape, big dude...is the worst heavyweight prospect skill wise i have ever seen after this many fights....i also have never seen anyone fight that many times against guys so embarrassing to physically look at they wont even show on TV. He is that bad......

Appreciate an honest response from someone from his native country. The question that needs answering is does he actually believe what he is saying? does he really think he is that good? If so he is in big trouble.

    This

Wilder and his career is an amalgamation of all the little jokes we make on here about boxers, but with wilder they're actually true

Literally fighting out of shape guys dragged off the street? Yep that's him

Chin so bad he stands a high chance of being floored every sigle time he steps in the ring (against circus level opposition ) yep that's him

Being hyped without any real reason? Yep that's him

Fury should fight Wilder. Would be great in the eyes of US TV for Fury to KO him. Would add hugely to TeamFury...

This thread is distracting for the other Wilder thread that's been going for several days now.

And, incidentally, Wilder is the future.

Thanks for the link, OP! It was very illuminating.

Now for your offensively ridiculous conclusions, White Man: (and you must be VERY white.)

Wilder quote, re getting to the top: "It's going to take a lot, for me to keep on training…. it's gonna' get there though hard work ….

Sounds pretty humble & level-headed to me. Nothing to worry about there.
    -------------------

Interviewer: "If you was to get a world-title shot, with Wlad or Vitali today, would you be ready to take it, and... would you be ready to win?"

Wilder: "Oh most definitely, I'll say yes to both."

Well, GOOD. The guy believes in himself, and is willing to fight anyone. Guess what? That's the attitude that all champions have. A lot of top-tier fighters have refused to fight a Klitschko. Wilder's attitude should be applauded.
    ----------------------------------

Wilder, re the Wlad camp: "I learned a lot from him, and I know he learned a lot from me."

Well, yeah, that's exactly why Manny Steward hired Deontay. Nice of you to edit his statement to make it look egotistic, butthead.

    ------------------------

The only slightly troubling thing I heard was Deontay saying he doesn't want to fight Jennings unless the money is really good. While Deontay doesn't actually make the fights, still, he surely must know that to GET the high-paying fights, he has to face some good opposition FIRST?
IMO, they should have taken Jennings' counter-offer, no matter how low it was. - But that was GBP's call.

Still, after this, I am more psyched for Wilder's prospects than ever.

Ever notice all these Wilder threads are started by Euro dudes? If the dudes so **** and such a non factor why keep making threads about him? You say he's hyped up and whatever, but I ask in what way and by who? I mean if you don't like him fine but he's done nothing to merit the constant attacks from you guys, it borders on weird.

I had the pleasure to work with Wilder when he was sparring with Kevin Johnson. Wilder not only works hard in the gym, but he carries a notepad and pen with him to write down what he need to correct & work on in the gym.

Many times during sparring, Wilder would say to his handlers things like "Remind me to double up on the inside", and the handler would log it in the notepad.

He is determined to be good/great, and is willing to improve. He knows what he is capable of, and he is willing to sit and listen to others give him advice--to better him in the future.
