Wilder is making impressive steps so far all knock-outs, steppng up in competetion and I expect him to KO Liakhovich. I even hink he can be trouble at this moment for someone as Wladimr
    Klitschko.
    Your thoughts?

Nobody can deny the man is dangerous and has serious KO power...his record proves this. BUT!! Here is the BIG but...he is only now just stepping up, he's been fighting stiffs all through his career. Tye Fields and others in the past have done this..then stepped up and got KO'd as soon as they did. There are levels or leagues in Pro boxing and Wilder has been fishing at the bottom end of the pond where all the tiddlers are.

He is definately one to watch - as he may well still be doing the same when he now enters the bigger league...but we don't know this yet. He does look reckless sometimes especially when he's got his man hurt..."windmill wilder" and another obvious point to consider is why has his management been so painfully slow in stepping him up??? They must have some serious questions they feel unsure about him in some ways. Usually fighters start off fighting bums for the first 10-15 fights then they step up...and start shooting for the stars. Wilder has feasted on bums way longer than most fighters ever did...why??? His chin also seems to be suspect...and maybe this is something his team are well aware of and why they've kept him 'safe' so far whilst they develop his technique to make him a safer bet against the better fighters. All we can say is he's one to watch but 28 KO's and 0 losses makes him look exciting...but its all at low levels of opposition so nothing to get too excited about. When he steps up and then if he's still doing the same (which he could well do especially with that power) then is the time to really start getting excited.

Similar with Tyson Fury - although to be fair to him he has stepped up to a higher level than Wilder as so far..but his big test really is starting now - his next fight against Haye...if he gets past that one with flying colours then a lot more people will take him serious and shelve their doubts.

Looking good at lower levels is not as impressive as you might think - it builds a false picture and there's only one true acid test - thats when you step up and carry on just as well. So Wilder is really no more than a hard hitting "watch this space" prospect. He does look sloppy/reckless at times though! When I watch guys like Tyson and Lennox coming up - you could CLEARLY SEE they were class and a cut above their lower level opposition in their first 20 fights...and when they stepped up...they carried on the same! They proved their class if it wasn't already plain to see when they were coming up. Wilder isn't quite like that...so far.

Wilder has serious power , no doubt about that, but when you step up in class and hitting your opponents with your best shots, hurting them but they still come firing back. That's when you find out about yourself.
Until he steps up then it's difficult to judge. With his power he'll be a threat but he's got a long way to go.

We will see how Wilder does should an opponent try to fight back. That'll be very telling.

Don't dislike Wilder, and he has gone about his job very well, but we won't really know anything about him until he moves up the levels

Remeber David Price being hyped up and look what happened there!!!

i hear almost no hype for wilder but alot of hate.he had very little am experience dispite the bronze.he's still very young and was moved just right.he's been stepping up and when he blows out liakhovich he will still get NO RESPECT! some guys are pretty fair in there assesment of wilder while most are just obvious haters.of course he can be knocked out out...anyone can but so far so good.he does have question marks...like how does he deal with a guy that just keeps coming after he hits them with his best shot? time will tell. i like the guy

Not hating on Wilder, he can only beat who's put in front of him by his handlers. However, even if he destroys Liakovich that doesn't tell us the whole story. We will only know if Wilder is for real if some opponent (maybe Liakovich, we will have to see) starts tagging him and causes him some problems.

What then: Will Wilder show heart and ring IQ or will he fold like a lawn chair? That's the big, unanswered question.

He has good KO power but... he has no technique, he telegraphs his right hand so blatantly that anybody with a decent bit of boxing skill will be able to avoid it, he lacks punch accuracy and has a glass jaw. The guy got knocked down by a big fat blob called Harold Scornier who looks like Butterbean's brother.

Plus his best opponent in 27 fights is A-Farce who is essentially a talking punchbag and the biggest joke in boxing.

It's hard to get respect when you refuse to test your skills by fighting someone that will punch back and remain content fighting cans.

He's almost 28, been a pro 5 years with 28 fights and just now he's taking baby steps up. If you think he's been moved right, then I pity you.

Truth his, he's packing glass in the jaw and he's running up his record until he can cash out with a title shot where he'll undoubtedly be KTFO'd. Bank on it.

Wilder didn't start boxing until he was 21. He might not be ready for elite HWs until he's in his early to mid 30's, if ever.

No hate from me mate. I respect anyone who gets into the ring. He does need to step it up a bit though.

Why, in an era where the US is desperate for a good HW, has Wilder been so protected for so long? After 27 fights, Audley is step up?!

    Just hype I think.

if liakovich tags him and gives him problem the haters will be out in full force talking about how a washed up fighter like liakovich gave him hell.if he has problems it better not be with liakovich. so depending on how much problems if any i might just be off the bandwagon. :D
