A guy that lost 5 of his last 8 fights was NOT a good fight.

I think we'll see Wilder in with some better opposition this year. He'll be back on Showtime after his very good performance against Kelvin Price.

Better for Wilder to remain active against journeymen like Greer than not fight for several months.

I am not impressed with Wilder. He doesn't seem to do anything exceptionally well. It will be interesting to see him fight someone who fights back. I suspect it will not go well for him.

For a prospect, it was a measuring stick fight. He had just fought Ustinov and Chagaev in the same year. Those guys have much more experience and they fought Manswell only months before he did. That's a nice step forward.

Like I just posted, it was a very solid step forward. Manswell has just fought Ustinov and Chagaev.

We have a new Michael Grant, but in this case there is no Lennox Lewis to stop him.

In Owen Beck's next fight he was dropped twice & TKO'd in 3 rounds by a 43 year old Oleg Maskaev who had been inactive for 3 years coming off a TKO 1 loss to Nagy Aguilera. So an RTD 3 victory over Owen Beck isn't all that impressive.

Wake up! This guy is a total fraud who fights nothing but tomato cans because he's packing GLASS in his mandible.

This joke got knocked out in the amateurs with HEADGEAR on (check about 1:57 in)! :rofl

    [yt]FNO5bVPP-uw[/yt]

Even against the cab drivers and bar patrons he's been padding his record against, his china chin has been exposed. Here he hitting the deck against the formitable tomato can Harold Sconiers:

And here's this FRAUD getting put on ***** street by some guy who looks like he trains at the bar doing 12 ounce curls (i.e. lifting the beer and putting it to your mouth). Go about 40 seconds in to see this joke Wilder taste canvas against this fat slob:

    [yt]gUlfI5VlZuY[/yt]

Case closed. Wilder has an OBVIOUS glass jaw, his handlers know it, which is why FOUR YEARS into his career, he's still fighting stiffs, and pathetic stiffs at that.

James Toney nearly got knocked out by Greer, or at least got wobbled pretty badly by him.

I'm not trying to defend this win (or even say that Greer is good - it's more of an indication that Toney should be retired), but just saying your statement is a bit misleading.

Of course he's still fighting this level of guy because of his rotten chin and because he doesn't have a ton of boxing experience overall (plus he still seems to be bulking up a bit). That said, he's been learning to fight taller, which should help him protect his beard. And his prior fight was against someone who's at least decent. Wlad and Lennox are heading to the hall of fame despite shaky beards because they learned how to fight tall and not get caught on the inside. It's pretty clear to me that's what Wilder is trying to learn how to do, and it's also pretty clear to me he no longer fights the way he did against Sconiers and such.

There's a good chance Wilder is never any good, but it seems like he takes an unnecessary amount of **** on here.

and what about the other guys I mentioned? Kerston Manswell? Owen Beck ? etc

Dont single Wilder out! All the young prospects fight these journeymen.

I know he should have been fighting tip ten guys when he was 9-0 so you can guys can complain that he was rushed.

You guys dont know anything about bringing a fighter along and about the patience it takes.
