Ah yes, here comes the guilt trip.

Forget moving up and taking on increasingly bigger money fights, let's keep fighting bums for the short money. Makes sense.

I actually thought Price was a good opponent along these lines. He is big and skilled enough that he got a controverisal nod against Tor Hammer, but slow and powerless enough that Wilder was not in real danger. So its a indeed a good learning fight.

Manswell and Owen Beck were also respectable journeymen.

But yeah, you are right. Most of his opponents are comically pathetic.

No guilt trip. If you had a sick kid and needed money for surgeries, would you not take every pay day possible? Realistically?

And anyway you have Lewis in your Avatar! A guy who's title eliminator was a confirmed crack addict named Lionel Butler and who's first live opponent (Tyson's sparring partner,McCall) KO'd him in2!

That still give him very little experience. The guy only started fighting at what, 21, 22 years old? If you know boxing you know thats a VERY late start. I think he'll step up soon enough and will do fine with his athleticism. It remains to be seen if he can keep learning and take the next step up after that to contenders, but the guy is fun to watch.

PS-not not picking, but it was a bronze at the Olympics.

Yeah, maybe if I was a complete bum with no prospects of ever making it big.

Are you saying Wilder's a bum?

I couldn't give a **** if his legs are skinny. Yes, it may be an issue given that his weight is what, around 225lbs? He's an inch or two taller than Wlad and 20lbs lighter, so of course there's a reason to wonder.

So he has a sick child to care for. You know what'd help him care for that sick child even better? If he stepped up his opposition and maybe fought his way up the rankings and won a decent title. If he's gonna keep fighting bums, he's gonna be paid like one, relatively speaking.

It's not a good state of affairs though when the best that can be said of the guy is that he's fought a few respected journeymen. The guy needs to push himself, test himself, and see what happens. Too much is made of the '0' these days. One or two losses and everyone's saying a guy is shot to ****.
