I'll be shocked if it's a live dog. But if so, props to him for trying to revive what he has left of a career.

Oh, I fully agree that he and his team can't expect any remaining paydays to be as lucrative as his previous best ones, whatever the amounts were.

But I think Finkel's probably more than happy to grab and fully encourage the last remaining paydays, at any cost, including any cost to Wilder himself.

And regarding the 'myth' that Wilder once was, and being more than fully exposed now, not only will a lot of fighters now strongly fancy their chances against him. If he was to lose again badly in his next fight, say, any more after that, and he'll probably be seen more as some kind of joke.... especially so with that weirdo personality change that he seemed to have had.

Wilder really needs to have a re-think about carrying on I reckon.

    ;)

I would like nothing more than for The Bronze Bomber to return to form, but I just don't think it's in the cards. He looked like crap in his last two fights, and he's lost 4 of his last 5. When you start racking up more losses than wins and you're in your late 30s, that's usually a telltale sign that boxing is done with you.

Is it only me thats excited for his comeback?

Losing to Zhang - Zhang is dangerous for anyone Parker stuck to a gameplan and didnt panic, Zhang would most likely take out Ruiz jr, Miller, Whyte, Chisora. I would love to see AJ or Dubois dropped and bloody and survive the rest of the fight with Zhang not happening

Dubois is prime but Zhang could easily counter Dubois' jab with a right hook, I think only Usyk and Parker beat Zhang not even sure Fury could right now (Kayabel is a 50/50 fight but think Kayabel gets sparked early)

Wilder, Ruiz Jr, Joyce, Chisora, Whyte, Hyrgovic and AJ are all done and mostly shot and vulnerable if the rest are still fighting why cant he, still think Wilder KO's Ruiz jr, Whyte, AJ, Miller, Chisora (maybe Hyrgovic)
Joyce is abit risky but his chin might be done too

Wilder could get highlight reel KO's again if he fights people that are on the way out too, if he loses to someone whose shot aswell then he should retire

    He should retire.

He’s already started in on the process of a boxer fighting on for too long, a process that many fans so often lament.

Besides physical deteriorations, mentally, he was clearly leery and reluctant to pull the trigger on his right hand in the fight against Zhang.

Even if he somehow scored a random, lucky KO - even against a decent name - I don’t think that would necessarily vindicate his decision to continue fighting. He has already accrued some serious damage.

The problem is everyone is gunshy against Zhang, even Usyk would probably throw the minimum for the first 6 its just not worth the risk the man has dynamite and has a huge weight advantage on most of them

The return of Deontay Wilder - Ho-Hum, I'm more interested in the return of Gilligans Island.

Late 30s and can't pull the trigger, a tale as old as boxing itself. Definitely time (or past it) to call it a day.

Hmmm, I don’t feel like this is a great idea for Wilder. He’s just looked so bad the past couple fights. I’m not trying to hate on the guy or anything, but I just don’t want to see him end up getting hurt. He’s made quite a bit of money, and I think he should probably call it a career. Of course, it really doesn’t matter what I think. Anyway, I hope he at least doesn’t get knocked out again. He seems to have a similar problem as post-prime Wlad where he still had the power but just couldn’t seem to pull the trigger.

Wilder is done. He's just not looked himself. Very hesitant and off.

Pointless. Wilder's dominance was based on him being all fast twitch muscle and not much else. He's a slow timid shell of himself now.

He must need the money. Not only has he taken losses lately, but he has looked awful in the process. There is no return to form. Only losses against decent comp and wins against complete no hopers.
