Has been in two good fights, or four if we count Nichols and Sconiers.

I have similar feelings regarding Wilder. When I first heard of him I shared the feelings of many. That he was a hype job etc. His last few fights are just as impressive as anything the other top heavies have done lately and he's winning me over.

I think Wilder's emblematic of boxing and the way they market fighters today. From the time he started boxing to when he medalled in the olympics is impressive. I started paying closer attention when he fought Stiverne. He earned a lot of respect from me when he fought Ortiz. There was some weird **** after the round in which Ortiz had Wilder in trouble but I think that's your standard boxing favouring the a side bias, but regardless of that, Ortiz hit him with some really good shots, wobbled Wilder, but he survived and went on to win. Answered some questions for me in that fight. At the time Ortiz was considered a legitimate threat. One of the most entertaining heavyweight fights I've seen in years. Was it the toughest fight that could have been made? No, but that's not what boxing is about. It's about making the most money with the least amount of risk. Fans have become enamoured with the big "0" and a single loss can be career ending in some cases. I've always preferred a 30 - 1/2 kind of fighter. It's the promoters job to sell it to us. And then he fought Fury when he didn't have to. That's a pretty decent cherry pick if you want to look at it like that. Events after the fight lead me to conclude that Tyson doesn't want to get back in the ring with Deontay. Then for a stay busy fight he took on Brezeale and took him out quick, like a legit champ should do against a b level opponent like Dominic.

I think Wilder is being underrated by some and overrated by others.

Usyk and Hrgovic are not credible heavyweights right now. No guarantee either one of them beats a prime breazale

Wilder is overrated at this point. Hasn't fought anyone with a pulse except ancient Ortiz who he went life and death with and mental Fury who outboxed him for 12 rounds barring 2 KDs after a long absence.

If he can beat Ortiz, Fury, winner of AJ Ruiz and Usyk then we'll start talking.

Just waiting for him to take a mat nap. It is not beyond the realm of possibility that Ortiz could put him to sleep. Doubtful it will happen though. Just pulling for it. If Wilder would tone down his loud idiotic verbiage about wanting dead bodies it would improve his image. It is difficult enough to listen to him without that type of nonsense.

The opportunity was never there.. Klitschko vs Jennings was made shortly before Wilder won his belt against stiverne. After Jennings it was known he had a mandatory obligation against Fury. Maybe it have happened if Wlad hadn't lost all the belts to Fury.
