Hmm Moorer was chinny so Wilder definitely could KO him. But then the feather fisted, china chinned southpaw Szpilka gave him problems, Ortiz too from his southpaw stance almost beat Wilder. Wilder would no doubt be tentative and as both Szpilka and Ortiz both took him late into the fight I suspect it wouldn't be a quick KO for Wilder as he'd struggle to figure Moorer out. Moorer is far more dangerous than Szpilka as he hits much harder and was faster and more active than Ortiz. Pick em fight for me, whoever lands first wins. Might give slight edge to Wilder as I don't recall Moorer having to deal with a fighter as tall and rangy as Wilder.
I'd pick Wilder in that one. Technically Moorer was a lot better, but he was a smallish and chinmy heavyweight. A come from behind highlight reel, bumsquad screaming KO for the Alabama Windmill it is. edit: @Brighton bomber said it a lot better as I did.
It's a bit harsh calling Moorer chinny. There's no shame in a light heavyweight fighting at heavyweight getting Koed by Foreman and a prime Tua. Moorer still had plenty of good wins vs Holyfield, Jirov, Bean, Botha, Shultz etc. The Bomber is right, Moorer was a very good Southpaw, something Wilder has had difficulty with. Either Moorer by easy UD, or Wilder by KO.
You're right, I was harsh for calling him chinny, Foreman and Tua are not exactly feather fisted, lol.
Good post. Wilder always has a chance but I think Moorer > Szpilka by a fair bit and that skill would see this one through. I don't think Wilder can soak up a beating like Foreman.
