Deontay Wilder vs. Alexander Povetkin

Povetkin takes it for me, but I hope Wilder puts up a display.

Wilder is going to bash up povetkin who is too small to win this one. If anyone would like to make large side-bets with me for real money on this then please let me know.

 

I had a dream where Povetkin caught Wilder with a body shot in the 1st round & Wilder went down & did a Charles Martin & was counted out. I think Povetkin stops Wilder mid rounds.

 

I have a ban bet with someone (though I am going to check to see if it is still on just before) so if I lose I will give full credit before saying farewell.

 

i am picking wilder / but it is based more on what potential he has than what i have seen him do in previous fights.

for wilder to win his team must devise a gameplan and stick to it.

will wilder have the mental strength to listen to his corner.

IMO wilders plann should be to use his height /length /speed / box behind a long champ /keep his right hand in reserve way more than he has ever done to block the povetkin`s left hook ( his best and most dangerous punch ) / use his legs to keep clear of povetkin and box from distance until late in the fight / when inevitably his legs will slow.

he can keep povetkin on the end of a jab / move more than normal /and time povetkin with the right.

if he can hurt povetkin a few times it could keep povetkin honest and stop povetkin from walking through wilder.

i envisage a lewis v tua type fight with tua unable or unwilling to throw caution to the wind because of power.

can wilder box disciplined /tight /controlled/ jab for 12 rounds / i dont know /
does he have the ability to do so / i beleive yes.

povetkin to win he has to box his normal fight /be able to take wilders power /get inside and unload with both hands /does he have to power to hurt and stop wilder / yes IMO /does he have the abilty to get inside /yes if wilder throws those huger /wide telegraphed punches from way back leaving his chin exposed to shorter povetkin shots.

but i beleive it is in wilders ability to negate povetkins weapons / just with wilder he has a tendancy to throw wild shots and these he must eliminate in this fight to win.

 

I agree with all this. I take Povetkin, but Wilder can pull this off if he sticks to a game plan.
