You might be a bit mixed up on the Ruiz Jr. Vs Ortiz fight. Ortiz showed good heart but he was getting hurt repeatedly by Ruiz Jr. Ortiz got dropped clean in both rounds 2 and 7. The closest Ortiz came to KD was when he pushed Ruiz Jr. to his knee in the 9th. If anything, against Ortiz, Ruiz showed yet again that he can eat shots, just as he did against Joshua. For me, Ruiz Jr. Vs Wilder is a great match up. Either one of them can potentially knock the other out. Can never discount Wilder's power, but Ruiz Jr. clearly has a chin and throws fast hard combinations inside.
That was the second fight when Joshua was boxing to a plan and not committing to power shots because of what happened in the first fight. Joshua dropped him in the first fight with the first hook he landed.
Yes, but if you look closely at that KD in fight 1, Ruiz went down but was clear eyed. He just got caught off guard by a perfectly timed hook, he didn't even have enough time to break his fall. But he was good to go as soon as he got up. Joshua didn't realise this, and thought Ruiz was hurt. Joshua then rushes him, and Ruiz ate him up on the inside exchanges with his hand speed. We know what happened after that. I think Ruiz also ate a massive right from Joshua in the exchange where Ruiz scored his first knock down, but my memory is a little bit fuzzy on that point.
Wilder will easily keep short fat Andy at jabs length, and then it's only a question of when Wilder catches him Fury had to employ some serious movement to avoid Wilders right hand, and he still got caught eventually. No way is Ruiz rising back up like Fury did.
Andy Ruiz Jr has a granite chin. And hits like a mule. I think he will knock out Wilder just like he knocked out Joshua. Fury will be happy to fight him as his mandatory.
Good chin with granite recuperatory powers imo. No granite chin gets cracked by an old arm punching Arreola.Andy boy does have elite come back mental toughness a la Juan Manuel Marquez.
