First congratulations to Ruiz winning this match. He boxed decently.

Who wins this fight Wilder vs Ruiz.

In my opinion Wilder wins if he can keep the distance and time Ruiz. However if Wilder let's Ruiz get close enough and use that hand speed. Ruiz can give Wilder problems although I still see Wilder timing him and cracking that chin. Ruiz has a good chin. Just surviving that right hand would be something. I have it 60/40 In favor of Wilder for now. Ruiz still has a chance .

Went with Wilder by KO, but Ruiz does have a good chin.

Ruiz is just too lazy and hittable.

wilder wins by ko... andy would have a chance if he is 100% like for the joshua fight... i think wilder will hit him with some right hands and when andy's jaw is broken he will win by ko... andy will put it in bad conditions

To be fair with that fat Ruiz, you never know, what exactly version of him will shown up. Not just the weight and the look, but does he really put real hard effort in the camp, and is he relentless to goes through fireworks to get to his man, like he did against AJ. But that fighter seems gone to be fair.
His cardio/energy is also full s**** nowadays, which is normal, eating junk food for breakfast, pre-lunch, lunch, pre-dinner, dinner, after-dinner,. pre-sleep and after sleep.
Let's see Wilder first against Helenius and then we can say with more authority.

P.P. One thing we should not forget tho, is that Ortiz is southpaw and a bit of discipline, and Ruis has never faced southpaw in his career, so that plays a role too.
Wilder is very wild, and could end badly for him. But Wilder probably has the power to put Ruiz down. Depends again what version of Ruiz show.
I would have said that he had a granite chin, as he looked absolutely rock solid taking shots pre Joshua and in both Joshua fights. But again playing with his weight and that can change quite fast.

    Tough to say, imo.

Rooting for Wilder like crazy here but like I said in the other thread, we have no idea what Wilder has left mentally or physically after a career of injuries and being beaten within an inch of his life back to back, not to mention he will likely be close to 38 if they fight. Time is not on his side here, and he has already appeared to be slowing down, imo... and he relies heavily on his speed (one punch explosiveness).

Just seems pretty premature to assume we know what kind of performance Wilder is likely to produce by the time they ever fight.

Ruiz is very dangerous the first 3 rnds. Very hard to say but if it goes 5 rnds or more I favor Wilder by stoppage

I can't stand Wilder and I think he is heavily favored at this point. Andy lost too much by gaining and losing hundreds of pounds. It is terrible for your heart and tears down your muscles.

Then again, it is hard to tell if Wilder can ever regain whatever it is he had being 36-37, and being though two brutal beatings.

Ruiz. Wilder has a glass chinn, glass chest, can't box on the back foot to save his life, poor defence and extremely limited technically.

Wilder would ko Andy at some stage.. He might have fast hands but he has slow feet and sits in front too much. Ready made for Wilder..

    Wilder.

Ruiz will be afraid to engage Wilder and will probably do enough to lose a wide decision. It seems to me like Ruiz has made his money from the sport and doesn't want to risk damage to his health.

    I could be wrong.
