Because he wants the money the aj fight brings, and knows that Povetkin poses a real danger of starching aj and that would cost him.

Yey, so we can all stop trolling Wilder or Joshua on here about which one of them is the ducker and we can all get stuck in to a whole new line of trolling. Not sure what yet. Chins and windmills probably.

I fully understand why AJ was so desperate to have this in the UK, same reason Haymon was willing to pull 150 million dollard out from his matress to try get this fight in the USA, home advantage, it really is that important to both sides. But then this is a 2 fight deal apparently which i also like so we get an American fight also.

We havnt got dates or anything yet have we? Is there still a chance they will both fight other opponants before they meet?

I'm over it. It wasn't Wilder's fault, just like GGG-Canelo II not happening in May was not GGG's fault.

    Yep.

And you KNOW that everything will be rigged in AJ's favor. The judges (not that they will really matter) the ref who will no doubt constantly badger Wilder about whatever imaginary offense he can think of, the ring size, which I guarantee you will be tiny, the gloves, etc etc etc ....

And team Wilder had better bring their own food and water, just to be safe.

And the phone in his hotel suite will probably inexplicably ring all night long before the fight. And the air conditioning will mysteriously go out.

And AJ will STILL probably go for a long nap after 4-5 rounds.
    - Though Wilder does have a bad habit of dropping his guard when he explodes in, so AJ might be able to catch him. Heck, I wouldn't even be surprised to see a double KO !

I get your point, but remember it's a two-fight deal. I don't think Hearn can do anything way out as the reciprocal will be waiting in the US rematch.

we will see if this comes off. It is a good fight. Wilder with his speed and power vs. Joshua with his a little lesser speed but stronger physicality. Joshua will be the natural stronger guy which means later in the fight a normal jab or right hand could hurt Wilder, just from the size. But Joshua has to watch for Wilder's early punches. The guy can punch.

This is an important fight for boxing and happening when both fighters are NOT over the hill like Manny v Floyd

    Any more news on this?

Last I read, Hearn was aware they’d accepted, and he was going to get Finkel a contract to sign

    Anything else reported on it?

Why does everything always happen next week in Hearn’s world?
