Wilder should be forced to pay Povetkin step-aside money so he can squeeze in another voluntary defense. Three voluntary fights is unheard of.

    How could it be Povetkin??.

Povetkin fights in a months time and won't be available for another 6 months after that. This is all Povetkins doing. Not Wilders. The WBC had already stated they were enforcing the mandatory.

This situation has really filtered out all the absolute re****s on this forum.

Would be his biggest test thus far, but he needs to fight his mandatory!
What's with the WBC lately telling their "champions" to fight their mandatories and if they refuse it looks like they just say OK and move on.

Why is it six months exactly? I'm pretty sure Povetkin will be available in february. Besides, the talks for Wilder's next defence are generally based on january. So, why not february instead of january?

My point being he shouldn't have been allowed a second voluntary against some other low-level opponent who has been pushed up the WBC's rankings with no actual justification. Surprised you haven't found a way to make this Wlad's fault actually.

People not comprehending basic points really filters out all the re****s on this forum.

When has Povetkin ever been back in the ring within 3 months of his last fight?

10 years ago , thats when. And against blow over's.

How is he going to be ready 3 months after fighting one of the most durable HWs in the division , on top of being 36 years of age.

That would imply he enters into camp right after the Wach fight.

    That ain't happening.

Povetkin scheduled himself out of contention. And now Wilder is fully within his rights to take on another opponent.

I hate to agree with Dino but in reality Wilder could easily fit in another voluntary. Povetkin usually fights in May and then late Oct or early Nov, that's been his M.O for the last 3 years.

Unless Povetkin agrees to an earlier date than May, I don't see any reason why Wilder can't fit in another voluntary against another journeymen. Maybe Povetkin/Wilder could happen in the last week of February as there in a national holiday in Russia then. If Povetkin holds out for May barring a ruling from the WBC to deny Wilder any further voluntaries I don't see why Wilder can't fit one more voluntary in, before Povetkin rearranges his face.

    It's real simple:

Sasha should cancel the Wach fight and then the mandatory can go ahead in January.

Otherwise, Wilder shouldn't have to sit on the sideline to accommodate Povetkin's schedule. If Povetkin goes forward with Wach and isn't willing to fight Wilder in January, two months later, it's on him.

Povetkin Wilder will probably occur in May. I just hope Wilder fights someone with a pulse if he does opt to fight again. While I partially agree with your stance the WBC has stated no more voluntaries for Wilder he must face Povetkin next. So if Wilder does fight again it won't be WBC sanctioned.

    Yes it will.

They will appeal to the WBC to be allowed to have another voluntary since Povetkin isn't available to fight the mandatory in January.

If the WBC is going to order anything, it should order Sasha to make himself available to fight for the title as scheduled in January or he can step aside to allow the voluntary defense.
