Povetkin cancelling the fight wouldn't change a thing. Wilder wouldn't be able to take Wach's place having only fought last month and Povetkin will not likely fight until next May even if he cancelled the fight.

Povetkin should fight Wach, Wilder should then fight another voluntary in Jan or Feb then fight Povetkin in May.

Wilder's whole career is laughable Molina, Duhaupas but technically speaking he has until May to fight or be stripped. If he wants to fight again to make a dollar on a non title defense it's in his right. Seems bush league not to just wait after you were already granted (2) voluntaries but whatever. He can't run forever.

    Wtf are you taking about?:huh

The champion doesn't wait on the challenger. How long have you been watching this sport?

It was on Povetkin to be available when negotiations were put in place by the WBC. He isn't , so Wilder moves on. A dummy could understand this very basic , simplistic situation.

Did the WBC say they would not sanction Wilders next fight? Are you just making stuff up off the top of your head?

    From Espn:

There are some who believed that Wilder would be given another optional defense before the mandatory fight, but Mauricio Sulaiman, president of the WBC, told ESPN.com on Monday that, no, the mandatory must be Wilder's next fight, even though Povetkin is scheduled for a fight first. He meets former title challenger Mariusz Wach on Nov. 4 in Russia.

"Wilder just fought a voluntary defense and is in line to make the mandatory defense," Sulaiman said. "The mandatory is Povetkin."

Sulaiman said that after Povetkin fights on Nov. 4, and assuming he wins, the WBC will order the negotiations for Wilder-Povetkin.

Should the sides be unable to make a deal, the WBC would order a purse bid. If everything stays on course, Wilder-Povetkin would likely be in the first quarter or so of 2016.

I'd be shocked if Wilder faced Jennings next. He has a big money fight with either Povetkin or Wlad waiting for him, Jennings is way too risky a fight right before landing that very large payday.

It does seem Wilder is going to fight again, Dec or Jan, but its going to be someone like he's already been defending against.

Haymon has a number of beatable heavyweights that Wilder can face-Breazele, Kaufman, Wawryzck. If he wants a riskier but still winnable fight there are guys like Arreola and Cunningham or even a non-Haymon guy like Briggs.

I'd love to see a Wilder-Jennings fight but I don't think Wilder risks his big money fight against a guy like Jennings.

The WBC will approve a Jennings fight.

Mayweather had mandatory opponents going back 10 years and I don't believe he fought any of them , yet he never fought a non sanctioned title bout.

Mayweather essentially has spent 10 years taking on voluntary opponents.

Make the Jennings fight a non title bout....keeps Wilder busy, satisfies WBC and shuts up the Povetkinologists.

I for one would certainly prefer watching Wilder vs Jennings to Wilder vs Wawryk.
The Pole is tailor made for Wilder:glass chin, easy target,no pop in his fists.
At least Wilder wont be able to give Jennings short shrift and take him out of action in the very first round.
:thinkWell, come to think of it even a limited heavy like Duhaupas almost went the full route with Wilder.I guess I underestimate the Pole.He might even be able to make the water hot for Wilder:D

We'll see if they do. I don't have my crystal ball one thing I will say is Mayweather to Wilder is apples and Oranges. Mayweather hopped around in different weight classes and also generated 100's of millions per fight the WBC wasn't interrupting that gravy train. This is different. We'll see if Suliamon goes back on his word. Especially if Wilder tries to feast on a Wawrzyk or Breazeale or Briggs or Fujimoto. Etc.

A shot Adamek would be a good name for Wilder. It would give Adamek a real chance at the heavyweight crown he always coveted. I bet it would sell some tickets also.[/quote]
This fight actually makes sense from PBC's point of view.
    1. A name
    2. coming off a win
    3. About Povetkin's size. Similar style.
    4. Very beatable.

For the record. I believe Breazeale can cause trouble for Wilder.
Breazeale showed he can be out boxed and while Wilder has shown a good jab he's not a clever boxer.
Style wize this might be an interesting fight.

Read post #80 dummy. Everything is on the course, Povetkin didn't break any rules.

Which is what's going to happen.

I'm not suggesting Wilder take Wach's place, just if Russians want to force the bid to fight Wilder in January he has to cancel the Wach fight to make himself available.
