Wilder probably wins a ud, maybe a late stoppage. Sadly, that would be the best opponent Wilders fought to date. Hopefully the Ortiz fight comes through and we'll know more about him.
I think Szpilka fights the closest to Takam with his movement and counter punching. But Takam is better and has a much better chin, Wilder has never stopped anyone as durable as Takam. But his lack of real power and the fact Wilder has a significantly higher work rate should see Wilder win a UD, probably 8-4 or 7-5.
Takam is nothing like the guys Wilder usually KO's cold. He's neither fat, past prime or china chinned. Stiverne, is the trifecta, old, shot and poor chin. Was stopped by King and dropped by journeymen Rossy. Szpilka has a grade A china chin. Even Jennings who isn't a puncher stopped him, Kownacki stopped him in half the time in took Wilder. Molina KO'ed in 1 by C level Arreola and KO'ed in a third of the time by Joshua and honestly Joshua carried him for 2 rounds. KO'ed in 1 by Ashanti Jordan too. Molina has a porcelain chin. Malik Scott, we all know his chin is terrible, even Chisora was able to hurt and stop him and he's no puncher and even then he needed a dive. Firtha was stopped by Fury and Tye Fields of all people and Fury isn't a big hitter either. Liakhovich was shot to hell and was stopped back to back by the weak puncher Jennings and also Helenius. Suffice to say Wilder has never KO'ed anyone as durable as Takam.
Wilder will be less impressive than AJ was vs Wilder but it would tell us more about AJ`s tools vs Wilder`s.
This. Takam has no power, stamina, or handspeed. This is the same Takam that couldn't beat a total scrub like Perez. Takam is Malik Scott level at best. Wilder would toy with Takam for 3-5 rounds and end him with a right hand.
Takam`s compact and takes a great shot plus Washington was making Wilder look crap before the stoppage Takam would get under a lot of Wilder`s windmill shots the same way Tyson would of except he doesn`t have Tyson`s swiftness to any degree
Would be very interesting to see if Wilder's right hand could take out a Takam. If not, Deontay better ruuuuuuuuun.
I like you Blizzy, but you're a total homer. Wilder would be a solid favorite, but the fact remains he has never beaten someone as good as Takam. In fact, Takam would be favored against every single opponent Wilder has ever beaten. Personally, I think Washington or Duhaupas might steal a close decision win over him, but there's no question they'd be underdogs.
Takam is a solid fighter, but I'd have to see him beat guys. I can't just say he beats this and that guy. His record doesn't reflect that. Drew you know me, on fight night I keep it G. Until then I make sure that Joshua's fans are kept scared and standing on their tippy toes lol.
