I'm not saying Chisora will "take a dive". (although i suspect a few have for Wilder before).
I said he'd be paid to lose.
I don't imagine Chisora will be flopping to the canvas at the first whiff of a punch, not at all.
In fact, he's ability to plod forward slowly, taking pretty big shots in the process, makes him a better candidate to throw a fight like this.

People saying he always "fights to the bitter end" but there have been matches where he just plods in, taking punches, and doing nothing else much, like an old school trial horse sparring partner.

I can imagine him getting offers to lose... I just don't see it.

The issue I'd have with what you're saying is it's essentially unfalsifiable - short of someone admitting it it'd never be proven and for as long as it's denied nobody believing as you do would accept that it wasn't the case.

If it's what you really believe then it is what it is... But it's one of those where it will always be a contentious belief for that reason.

I don't have to provide information, it's all there. We have YouTube and we have boxrec nowadays.

Look at some of the boxers who are losing fights all the time, look at the records on some of these boxers. Some boxers have 100 or 200 losses and are boxing all the time. You can't argue that they're not paid to lose. And if you see some of these guys, it is obvious they are there to lose, and not 'trying to win'. They're having a 'work out'. And most of the ones who are beating them aren't even much good!
Oftentimes, the one who wins gets the win, and doesn't get paid as much as the loser, often doesn't get paid at all !
The guys losing all the time are often making the better living.

Then look at some of the boxers with 15-0, 20-0 or even 30-0 records .... some of them are dreadful, very amateurish, very ordinary, no exceptional talent.

Just on those facts alone - (and this is something the entire boxing industry doesn't even deny) - it's obviously a rigged sport.
It's so rigged, a lot of fans (perhaps yourself included) don't even see it. The 'normal' state of being for professional boxing is rigged.

Fair enough, but for me it doesn't really matter. Most boxing fans speculate, credit, accuse or excuse boxers of something. Guess work.

The likelihood is (in my estimation), some boxers, somewhere and sometimes, are deliberately losing matches and making it look very good indeed. I also think that sometimes this happens at a reasonably high level. The incentives are there enough for it to happens sometimes.

Just as I think some judges/referee are "bribed" or at least "employed" to score for the promoter's favourite, or a fighter 'meant to win this one'. I think that's fairly systemic actually.
( I also think fans are more likely to see that as a true statement or not contentious because they have no emotional attachment or deep admiration for judges/referees compared to fighters.)

Chisora cried after Usyk handed him his 10th loss in 2020, as I recall. He showed tremendous will to win against Joyce and barring Fury 3, he hasn't lost since 2021.

I can't dismiss the theory, it's possible. Wilder stopping Chisora would make an Usyk-Wilder fight bigger, so there's potential motive there. I don't think it's the most likely scenario though, it's contingent on too many (imo unlikely) conditions:

    1. The demand for Usyk-Wilder being so great relative to the costs/risks that major boxing power players are willing to fix Wilder-Chisora

    2. Usyk having no viable opponents currently from a risk-reward perspective

    3. The money being big enough to convince an already very wealthy Chisora/Chisora's team to throw the fight, when winning this could get Chisora another big money fight too

    4. Chisora taking a dive for the first time in his soon to be 50 fight pro career

Also, if Chisora were to take a dive and it were perceived as such, Wilder's entire career and legacy would be called into question and the Usyk fight would be a non-starter anyway. There's already the Malik Scott fiasco, and the Helenius KO looked questionable even though I think it was legit. And how much does stopping a 42 year old "career final fight" Chisora make an Usyk-Wilder fight "credible" anyway? I'd wager it doesn't really.

Furthermore, Chisora is a brain-damaged nutter and may well do a "Butch" from Pulp Fiction even if they paid him 10 million dollars or whatever.

You're essentially talking about "jobbers" - the whole point of those guys is to know how to lose without getting hurt... They're not good enough to win, and they know it, so they learn how to lose with minimal punishment where possible.

Chisora is certainly not one of those.

Up to a point, maybe - I think it's probably more a product of lower level managers feeling like they might've found someone decent, and giving them paths to build them up rather than throwing them in the deep end... We see this even with highly regarded and well known prospects.

Would a lesser known Polish manager seek a similar path for, say, a Knyba type character as a fisheyes has for Itauma, albeit at a much lower level? Probably, I would think?

Are some of them then sold out when the time's right? Absolutely.

Again, though, there's giving advantages to some fighters and there's outright corruption - evidence of the former is everywhere... The latter there's sometimes signs of, but it's often well hidden if it's happening at all.

Hmm, up to a point - some tie to evidence where possible, some just speculate wildly and don't care... The former are thinking, the latter are guessing or just trying to justify biases.

I can't say I see much evidence of it at a particularly high level - occasionally there's one that looks fishy (dives), but it's rare and there are multiple possibilities for why.

I think it's more that there's actually evidence of this - it's clear to see at times, and that makes it more plausible that it's happening less visibly at times.

We've all seen dodgy refereeing, and often in the direction you'd most expect to see bias... Whether that's Campbell Hatton getting the referees decision, Wilder getting saved against Ortiz, Fury getting a longer count in Wilder 1 than a less marketable opponent would, or with Kabayel's latest card the refusal to stop when the favourite was losing Vs the fairly early stoppage in favour of a favourite later in the evening... We've all seen it, we all have opinions on it - it's impossible to ignore.

That’s exactly what my feelings about these guys are, they can’t accept a loss so have the excuse of conspiracy line up.

boxing, like most sports generally amount to who is better on the day, has better prepared, better strategy and has better luck

This is why I said I feel sorry for boxing, it has so many so called “fans” who don’t understand the sport whatsoever yet talk loudly and often about things they misunderstand, spreading false information.

As others have explained, these fighters serve the industry. Prospects coming up need to practice “in fight” as well as in training.
Just like other sports have lower levels of football/tennis etc which people use when climbing the ladder.
    Why would boxing be different?
Why does the boxing system not require a learning process?

why should a young prospect and his family/team, be scrutinised for trying to build their fighter up and protect the prospects future and development?

next shall we require beginners in school to take their a levels instead of building them up or allowing them to take mock exams?

Or why a low level fighter should be insulted by saying he got paid to lose, when he's stepping into the ring, giving his all, but he's just limited and not that good. It's hella disrespectful. Bad fighters exist, but still like what they are doing.

agreed but It’s not even always that.

to be a prospect in an individual sport takes ALOT of work to generate the money required to fund your progress.
Many journeymen end up that as it pays the bills and responsibilities of generating income.

if your complaining about this in boxing, you need to look at other individual sports/arts like horse riding/motorsport/record studio time for singers
