Shavers is the more skilled one here. Shavers has a proven record of landing nukes on elite fighters.

While this could clearly go either way, Shavers has to be my favorite.

tins is the differentiating point to me. Shavers has a proven record of being able to land nukes on actual elite fighters. If he can manage landing on Holmes, Norton, and Ali, he sure as hell can land on Wilder.

Wilder. Shavers didn’t have the finishing ability, durability or cardio to hang with Deontay for very long

Ali was a decade past his best. Norton was a corpse. Shavers landed once on Holmes in more than twenty rounds of getting his ass kicked.

Yes..... coming up. Shavers LOST in his prime against Stallings.

At the risk of sounding redundant, Stallings was not even an "unexceptional journeyman" and had a losing record. Oh and Shavers lost that one.

Can you show me Wilder's loss to a 20-24 fighter in the peak of his career? I can't find it.

I don't think anybody here writes Shavers off. In fact I think that if Shavers managed to avoid that nuclear right hand while coming in for a few rounds, that he'd do well on the inside against Wilder who tends to need some room to do his best work in. Might even put him to sleep.

Just ... Shavers' defence wasn't that great (neither is Wilder's mind you) and the guy getting off first would be Wilder. While Wilder's chin has been iffy in his latest outings, he has previously exhibited a lot of heart and a fair chin previous to that. It just feels to me that Wilder edges ahead of Shavers in most categories including having a healthy 20-40lbs on him depending which version you pick.

    2010s Wilder: Wilder wins.

    2020s Wilder: Shavers wins.

The version of Shavers does not matter.

    Fair observation.

Wilders opposition wasn't the best but he gave plenty of men better than that a chance against him.
