Evander and very easily. He's a great counter puncher and Wilder makes tons of mistakes. A past it Evander hung in there with Lennox who is 6'5 and bigger than Wilder, and probably punches harder or at least as hard.
i will go against the grain and say wilder my reasoning wilder is 40-0 as a heavy and holyfield had many many off nights as a heavy he was nearly kod by cooper he was **** 3 times v ruiz **** v rahman average v lewis the in shape version off bowe walked through him you cant just say that the best version of holyfield would show up v wilder / holyfield blew hot and cold. wilder what you see is what you get raw but long and fast and always in shape holyfield best wins are douglas /bowe 2 - both were out of shape tyson =both very good wins trying to think who else without going to box rec holyfield would make it a good fight but his head would not come into play and it is very hard punching up 5 inches .
Holyfield by KO. The difference in skills would be ridiculous. And Holy had a granite chin. I actually think that Wilder would have had much better chances of beating Lewis and Wlad, both of whom are miles behind Holyfield in punch resistance.
Vaughn Bean, who was one of the weakest Holyfield opponents during his 90s era, would beat 39 of 40 Wilder's victims easily and would be competetive against Ortiz. As for the fights you listed - Holyfield was well past his prime against Lewis, Ruiz and Rahman (and Lewis is ATG HW, by the way). Bert Cooper hurt him, yes, but Cooper was HUGE puncher. Bowe was great boxer and very big one. He had 30 lbs weight advantage over Holyfield, while Wilder is only 215-220 lbs. Plus Bowe was extremely skilled offensive machine, Wilder has zero skills in comparison.
I would go for Holyfield. Wilder only has a punchers chance. The likes of Bowe and Lewis were extremely skilled especially compared to Wilder and they had a 30lb weight advantage over Holyfield whereas Wilder is a similar weight.
Holyfield had problems getting inside against taller fighters with a good jab. Everyone knows that, so you're post was totally ridiculous...
only saw bean 4 times holyfield -stinker of a fight thompson dimetrenko vitali klitchko he lost them all he hardly threw a punch in anger in the 4 fights i saw and was a negative /no ambition/spoiler survivor . cooper was an average fighter and the fight was seen as a patsy for holyfield at the time. bowe was a cherry picker never faced a single one of the big heavyweigh punchers in his whole career and his claim to fame is his triology with holyfield holyfield came in as a cruiserweight for the first fight just a shade over 200lbs bowe never trained for the second fight had to shed a ton of weight and lost the fight as a result 3rd fight brilliant all action give and take and he stopped holyfield at the cost of his career my reason for picking wilder just coming of beating ortiz best win of his career v a holyfield who if i take an average of his heavyeweight career what holyfield should i assume wilder to face the one that turned up and lost to moorer was lackluster v bean /holmes and foreman who was hurt in a gimmee fight v cooper was walked through by bowe in the first fight the all action holyfield of the second bowe fight the underdog holyfield who did not show tyson the fear that tyson liked to see would holyfield be intimidated by wilder-not a chance / could wilder hurt holyfield and stop him / most definatley / people dont remember the ammount of critism holyfield got for a lot of his fights / its only his stellar performances that are judged and this IMO should not be the case when analysing fantasy matchups .
If we ever see Usyk Wilder, it would give us as close an approximation of a real answer as we are going to get. Hopefully it happens one day.
So where is this tall fighter with a good jab? My goodness, surely you arent talking about Wilder? El Gallo Negro jabbed Wilder all over the ring and he's a converted footie player.
