Usyk is really looking at the Heavyweight title, but he also has interests in WBC Cruiserweight and WBC Tigerweight, Hunter is also another possibility, Agit Kabayel fight was discussed and a possible future WBC Tigerweight title fight. Romanov is a fan favorite, he holds a valuable victory over Wilder in the amateurs, he made his way into the WBC Tigerweight rankings and is obviously very confident he can repeat the feat. Will the fans want to see this one first for the vacant title? As of now Romanov is already WBC #6 Tigerweight in the rankings, giving him the fastest path to a title shot! Romanov is a natural Tigerweight, what a matchup hopefully we see him in the WBC Tigerweight rankings This content is protected
Some surprisingly good match-ups there, including cult favorite Kossobutskiy. I have been lobbying for a Wilder-Romanov rematch since February, and if they can plausibly make if for a super-cruiser title, hey, great. If Wilder wins, it has a similar psychological effect to beating Fury in that it exorcises a demon and restores confidence. If Romanov wins, it resurrects a career going nowhere fast. Of course, if I had my vote, Povetkin would be fighting for this title. He is WBC heavyweight #1 contender, he only has to lose a couple of pounds, and he would probably win and cap a fine career with a somewhat legitimate championship. But Romanov-Wilder would be fine.
I'd like to see it. However I don't know much about Romanov, how he's fared in the pros. Lots of good match ups in the division. Moreover going from TW to HW (or other way) is much more feasible move now than CW to HW.
