Wilder`s reach would be a huge problem and if Ingo could knock Patterson out then so could Wilder however Floyd might have had just too much craft, but what weight would he come in at? Wouldn`t Floyd just be a cruiser now, he`d also have trouble reaching Wildr`s chin as he pulled back due to his massive height advantage.
Patterson is the better fighter, but Wilder is bigger, taller, longer and rangier. If Wilder lands, even once, that is the beginning of the end for Patterson.
I think Patterson gets there first and flattens glass jaw Wilder. We know Patterson has heart and would get up if he got caught first, Wilder gasses quickly.
Wilder would have to bank on his right hand (like always) Patterson would easily out box wilder though. I'd say Patterson by ko around the 4th or 5th round
Hate to say it, but once again I see poor Floyd getting crumbled here. Not sure if he'd come out blazing or what but Wilder has him down fairly early. Wilder ko 1 Patterson.
Do people not realize Wilder is basically Ingemar Johanson if he had the dimensions of a basketball player?
Patterson is the greater fighter but I think the physical advantages Wilder has over Floyd would be key.
This fight would look like the Muhammad Ali vs Floyd Patterson first tile bout on Nov 22 1965, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Deontay Wilder would have the reach and height in this encounter too. But Wilder does have a harder punch that the 23 year old Ali had on that night, also Deontay would not have a personal agenda against Floyd. Patterson for all his boxing ability and quickness would not be able to inflict any damage to Wilder, who would be using that stiff left jab to keep Floyd off balance. Deontay by TKO 6. Al Silvani, who by the way was an actor, he appeared in Oceans 11, (1960) his bar fight scene against Peter Lawford, and both Rocky movies, (1976 and 1979) would not be hoisting up Floyd because of back spasms this time around.
