Wilder had a huge right hand that could blast out much bigger men. Usually, Wilder was the smaller man as far as weight is concerned. In this case, Wilder would be the bigger man. Who wins?

Frazier had the style, workrate and skill to give Wilder a miserable night. But Deontay was a lot bigger. Had an iron chin. And more than enough power to hurt Joe with. I’m not totally sure how this ends up

I'm not going to favor Wilder or even say hes a live underdog. But Wilders got a much better shot with Frazier than most of his peers. Frazier beating Shavers or Lyle easy would have been really important to remove that doubt. But he left the impression size and especially size and power was a problem for him. Norton lost to Shavers and Nortons 3 or 4 inches taller than Frazier. 6 ft 7 is just a very big deficit for Frazier.

Frazier not fighting Norton, Young, Lyle and Shavers and being 2-4 with no stoppages against Ali, Foreman and Bugner really makes it hard to be confident about him fighting dangerous SHWs. Mathis gave him some trouble too. Frazier could overcome it but he was noticeably less good against large opponents. Who were much smaller than Wilder.

Wilders nowhere near as good a fighter but all it takes is one moment. With someone like a Valuev or Fury whose not really a puncher I think Frazier messes him up over a long fight like Bugner but damm I would be nervous about a big puncher.

It's an highly dangerous fight for our man Joe.
I don't want to pick against him... ever.

Wilder wouldn't be able to deal with the constant pressure and work rate from Frazier. I also think it would be difficult to land Wilder's famous right straight clean too.

    Frazier mid to late TKO.

Frazier’s my all time favorite fighter but Wilder has much more of a chance than almost anyone on ESB will ever admit.

Wilder uses his height and reach to box his way to a beautiful decision.

    Disagree.

Wilder doesn't have the balance moving his feet. And he's very vulnerable to the punches Joe throws while he's trying to re-settle into position. He holds those legs so far apart it very well might be 2 steps before he resets himslef & Frazier is very quick at closing that distance. And the ability to punch effectively while moving those feet. Punches 2/3/4 are going to land by Frazier. And he'd be inside that Wilder dangerzone.

Wilder has to plant those feet to throw and he simply won't have the time & even worse--backing up. I see this as a footwork fight & Frazier is superior. Having bad balance is not a trait to have against a Joe Frazier---you'd need an excellant defense to make up for that deficiency & that part of the game is just not there for Deontay.
