I think they're anticipating a Wilder-Sergei Liakovich-type KO, where the guy is left quivering on the floor. Let's put it this way, Sugar Ray Leonard made $1 million fighting Wilfred Benitez (Benitez made $1.2 million) on national television. It was the first time any boxers below heavyweight made more than a million dollars for a fight. In his second defense, Leonard made $10 million to defend against Duran on closed circuit TV. What happened in Leonard's first defense to cause his huge jump in pay? On national television, the same night Larry Holmes fought Leroy Jones and Mike Weaver fought John Tate, Leonard stole the show with a brutal, concussive KO of Dave "Boy" Green. American fight fans love brutal KOs. And they are starving for a heavyweight to support. I think Duhaupas was brought in to do this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEbEIQ6yCm0
You're right but the thing is Duhaupas is not shot to bits, he has the skills to avoid a good punch and has a solid chin. I think he'll give Wilder some rounds.
I am looking for a good performance from Wilder :bbb The guy is interesting, I don't think anyone can deny his right hand is great?? Mock me all you want with retorts of "you need more than a right hand idiot" comments, but notice how all the mocking's DENY disagreeing that his right hand is great? His length and speed are also great. The question mark? His chin. I imagine he is like I was when I boxed, deep down he doesn't like getting hit hard as in his past fights when he got hit hard he temporarily lost some degree of his balance and coordination, making him feel vulnerable. I could always tell when I was in against a guy that could take a good shot. They react like Holyfield, they SPEED UP, if they react by SLOWING DOWN while trying to make it look like they aren't slowing down, while staring into your eyes like you just accused them of being ROCKED then chances are their jaw isn't as good What makes Wilder so interesting is he is going to live or die in the next few years on how well he survives getting HIT by some of the best in the business. How well he does that is how good he will become :bbb
He may last some rounds, but I think they're anticipating a crushing KO. Then again, that's why they fight the fights. Things don't always work out as planned.
He comes out every round looking like his trainer, Mark Breland, used to. He doesn't maintain his form like Breland did. Breland won a couple titles, and beat some names, but he tended to get KOed when you didn't expect it. Wilder might have a career like that, too. I'll be curious to see how his career unfolds. He could still go either way.
PBC at it's finest.Another Euro trash no namer to give Wilder a hi-lite KO.When will this madness end?atsch
yeah, I loved Breland :good he reached his peak after he won the belt and once he did everyone your facing has the blue print to beat you and they all start following it :bbb
The card will also have Omar Figueroa and Julias Jackson, so there aren't a lot of dancers on this telecast. It's going to be full of KOs and Figueroa going to war again. It won't be boring, that's for sure.
