If Wilder fights Ortiz i will forgive him, unless Ortiz sparks him and in that case ima beat up both Blizzy and MVC just to rub it in extra.

Even if he wins I'm sure his constant twitter rants will provide us with more comedy gold. And as you say he has his hands full with Ortiz, I keep imagining that counter left landing over Wilder's low right hand, if it lands then it's good night sweet hybrid.

Will be interesting to see how Wilder's supposed vaunted power does against his first quality opponent. Ortiz seems to have a decent chin. Even if Wilder wins he might go the distance again.

I can see a few scenarios, I think wilder will be careful in the early rounds and try to take it late.
Ortiz and povetkin are outsiders in my eyes because of their age. I'm picking Wilder by late stoppage, but will lmao if he got ktfo.
Wilder hasn't fought anybody live for ages, I'm uncertain about his chin. We shall see.
    It's already a great start for 2018.

If you're an overweight/uncoordinated/well past prime/carrying an injury/unmotivated heavyweight boxer .... and you wake up one morning to find yourself ranked top 15 by the WBC ... look out ... you're getting KO'ed in March.

PS: re post above ... if the fight actually happens, credit to Wilder, especially if he wins it.

Ortiz is a bigger threat than any opponent Joshua has fought. After Wilder ko's Ortiz joshua will have no choice but to fight Wilder. If he doesn't the world will see his stiff ass as a *****. They see him as a coward now, but add ***** to the list of things that he will be called should he duck Wilder.

If the fight happens and I'll believe it when I see it, it will be the best fighter Wilder has faced even if Ortiz is 51 on fight night as many believe.

Great news. I know we keep going on about how Wilder needs to step it up but I'll remind ourselves that, this is it for both fighters. Ortiz is stepping it up too obviously with his long overdue first title shot.

Judging from their last conversation in the ring, these guys are gonna bring it and whilst they always do, I think both fighter really wants this one in particular more than anything.

Ortiz is OLD, he didn't look so good in his fight against Allen and Scott. He was inactive for a full year from late 2016 through 2017, except for a warm-up in December against no-hoper Martz.

Wilder refused to fight him a few years ago, he's been delaying it until he's certain Ortiz is faded.

I would totally bandwagon the 2014-2015 Ortiz against Wilder, but you're right to an extent.. Wilder is better than a lot of us gave him credit for - that's not to say most of the criticism isn't invalid(a lot of it is exaggeration, hyperbole, tongue and cheek etc.) but Ortiz is 39 and has almost certainly slowed to an extent. That's not to say he's completely shot and won't be dangerous for Wilder, on the preponderance of the evidence he's still a dangerous fight and probably the best opponent to date. Wilder get's credit for taking this fight - but it is without a shadow of a doubt a calculated risk by his handlers - if Ortiz wins they lose nothing.

That logic only applies if the only people giving AJ zero credit for beating WK are Wilder fans! You know that isn't the case. Anyone that watched the AJ fight knows WK was fighting at a very high level. If you have been watching boxing for the last several years, you know Ortiz is a big step up for Wilder. I think it's a step in the right direction and hopefully leads to a match up between him and AJ.

Great news if this fight finally takes place, and if it doesnt because of an "injury" or another "failed test", then rumours are circulating that Dustin Nicholls is on standby.

So its a win-win whatever happens.
