Deontay Wilder vs. Oleg Maskaev in the works?

The difference is that Jennings turned pro two years later than Wilder and has already surpassed Wilder in terms of competition level and realistically, it can't be doing Wilder any good to continue to face these tomato cans/shot fighters that can't take his punch at all, are not good defensively, nor can they provide any resistance to test his chin. He needs to fight a guy that is at least somewhat durable just to get the rounds in and see how he does stamina-wise if nothing else. A good matchup for him in that regard that wouldn't be too dangerous but at least provides a legitimate step-up would be Ruslan Chagaev. Another would be Kevin Johnson.

 

Wilder is not required to fight anyone in the top ten, 20, 30, etc., to get ranked.

 

Exactly the sort of opponent you would expect Wilder's management to put him in with - another no-hoper for him to build his fraudulent record with.

The interesting thing is that Wilder's chin is SO suspect, even today's washed up Oleg could knock him out if he hits him right.

Even if this fight is a rumor, it doesn't change the fact that Wilder's management has fed him the most limited tomato cans they could find, and that this has gone on for FIVE years!!!

Wilder is a fraud, trying to hide the glass in his mandible by fighting opponents that have no chance of winning - or shattering those fragile whiskers. :yep
