Like to have seen this one just for entertainment value.
Briggs from the Lewis Fight would give it a go.
    Anyone fancy the cannons chances??

Wilder, Briggs is overrated, was losing on points to Liakovic, had a close fight with Botha, lost to Darrell Wilson, he was exiting and also talks a big game, that’s where his reputation comes from, those 2 things.

Wilder by KO watch the Botha fight and see how many times Botha hit Briggs flush with right hands then imagine that's Wilder hitting Briggs with his right hand.

Briggs had a few fights where he seemed to soak up hard shots like a maniac.
Wilder would have a field day lol

Wilder. Maybe Briggs has a decent start and lands a couple good right hands, but Deontay is more durable, more talented, more powerful, more accurate, etc.

Wilder is who I’d favor but in a shoot out between two colossal hitters anything can happen

This, but I think Deontay would have to get the jab in and try to be more measured. 8 rounds at the outside.

If Wilder windmills a lot early on...Briggs had a really good shot when he landed. He had the power to nullify Deontay, and vice versa.

Briggs got hit too much. Big problem. If slow-ass old George could slap the poo out of him with the left for 12 rounds, Wilder could end it early with one or two flush shots imo.

Briggs, they would likely fight around age 40, Briggs would 100% be the superior old man, the younger one from 98 I would still give the advantage to over an equivalent Wilder because Wilder was a clown that never got in the ring with anyone near as skilled as Lewis

Briggs would make a good go of it and probably catch Wilder with some good shots, but Wilder nukes him.

Briggs sure had fast hands for such a big guy to go along with that power. This would have been a fun fight while it lasted.

50/50 fight. Both fighters can punch. Both kind of suck. Neither man super durable. Wilder really only has the right hand, so, Briggs actually has an advantage in punch variety. But, basically, whoever lands their Sunday punch first will likely win. I have seen ZERO evidence of Wilder's durability. He showed a little bit of heart getting up from some knockdowns, but, honestly, those knockdowns were usually from punches that would not have dropped an average heavyweight. Anytime he has been hit with a really good punch, the fight has been over. As flawed as Briggs is, he definitely has a chance in this matchup.

Two very flawed, but exciting fighters (aren't those the most fun to watch?).

    Power: Slight edge Wilder
    Chin: Briggs
    Hand Speed: Briggs
    Footwork: Wilder
    Stamina: Wilder
    Technique: Slight edge Briggs
    Timing: Wilder
    Accuracy: Briggs
    Versatility: Wilder
    Defense: Wilder
    Combinations: Briggs
    Body shots: Briggs
    Ring IQ: Both are idiots
    Heart: Wilder

    7-1-6 slight advantage Wilder.

This would be a pretty tense fight as both guys are very athletic and powerful, but both are also very flawed when it comes to defense and overall endurance. It would probably be a nail biting first round as they would be wary of each other's power. Whoever lands first likely gets a huge advantage in momentum.

By round 2, it's a shootout. Briggs has the edge at close range with his sharp hooks upstairs and to the body with better speed. Wilder at mid/long range with his stiff jabs, wide hooks, and looping right hands. I think Wilder would be very uncomfortable if Briggs gets within range as he's a pretty strong, big guy who can take a hit and isn't shy about letting his hands go. Wilder has trouble fighting off the back foot.

On the other hand, Wilder has underrated timing, better stamina, and can actually be pretty patient waiting for just the right time to detonate as seen in the Ortiz 2 fight. So long as Briggs doesn't land too many bombs, I expect Wilder to survive long enough to clip Briggs with something huge. Wilder may have to get off the floor once or twice and may even be behind in the cards, but in their matchup I expect he wins unless Briggs ends things within the first 4 rounds (which is entirely possible with his power).

My guess is Wilder wins either by KO or TKOs Briggs after the New Yorker gasses out and takes too many unanswered punches within 6-8 rounds.
