Surprising result i did not expect so many people to favor wilder. I guess a lot of people have faith in him to bring back American glory in a European dominated division.
Wilder is basically the same as the Europeans when you think about it. He is a tall heavyweight with the long reach. He really is a more athletic, more exciting, more charismatic, less skilled version of a Klitschko.
Right now, Fury would kick his ass. Wilder's never even gone past 6 rounds, and he's MUCH more raw than Fury. Come back to this question in five years.
wilders opposition has been an absolute joke. there does not appear to be the gradual improvement in quality of opponent you would expect of a prospect. now nearly 2 years after making his debut he is scheduled to fight a 38 year old with a 4 - 4 record, whilst tyson fury has been taking out experienced domestic operators like john mcdermott. if they fought right now, i think fury takes wilder out late or wins a comfortable UD.
It makes since to take your time...if you rush then things will never be the same if you go too fast. If you take you time then yes people complain but once you get to the top it will have been worth the wait... See Andre Ward... Perfect example...now no one talks about his steady diet of tomato cans for years en route to the top... In retrospect he got all that he needed prior to heading to the top and now he is at the top...so it doesnt really matter how he got there...just the fact that he is there...
