Maidan vs Khan was a great fight, that was one of the fights that got me into boxing. But I disagree on the chins. Khan was a small welter, he was essentially a 140lber and he was getting knocked out by big guys/punchers (Canelo's a super middle, Prescott was a big guy, Garcia looked pretty big against Khan + was a big puncher). He didn't get KOd by small guys, he only got KOd by bigger opponents & big punchers. Taking punches from bigger guys is a risky business, and obviously more likely to result in KO than if you fought someone your own size or smaller. Klitschko rocked by smaller guys. Klitschko had almost 20lbs on Sanders
Klitchko puts Wilder out cold. I dont care about Wilders recent heart in the Fury fights. Fury isnt a big puncher, not an atg puncher like Wlad. Wlad is a top 5 heavyweight hitter of all time, and with great skills. Wilder would be jabbed to death and knocked out, no fighting instinct gets him out of it. And i rate Wilders fighting instinct tbh. Power and heart.
Wlad lands at will , jab , left hook and then comes in right hand , next thing you know Pulev I mean Wilder is out. And just a few years younger wlad finishes Duckson Fury too.
I do see your point, although Wlad gets it by virtue of being a heavyweight for me: you get diminishing returns in terms of punch resistance with additional weight, and things like bone density start to play into it, so at heavyweight having 20lbs on somebody doesn't necessarily mean you're better equipped to take their punches. The weight would come into play more if Wlad had implemented his later strategy of leaning all over his opponents, but there's no more shame being KOd by a 225lb Sanders than there is in being KOd by a 250lb Joshua, in terms of the shots that did the damage. Just thinking about the mass behind a heavyweights punches, even if they don't have snap on them, just that force landing makes it harder for a fighter to withstand a puncher at heavyweight than a 140lber taking a solid 140lb shot, even from a guy that's big at the weight. And no shame with the Canelo KO, that shot would have KOd anybody, but you could argue the AJ uppercut at the end of the Klitschko fight would have KOd most guys, particularly after the long hard fight that preceded it... Wlad went down of course, but let's not forget he was on his feet when the fight was stopped. Khan hadn't taken much before that shot landed, but he was in the spirit realm! And finally, I would argue that neither had a chin as bad as they get credited for, like the hype about their chins got to a point where if even a grazing jab landed, people expected them to be on shaky legs
Wlad might have avoided being hit by Wilder when Manny was around but not after. And the odds of Wilder not landing a single right hand is long. Wlad couldn't take a solid power punch.
Old Klitschko survive huge bombs from way powerful and way stronger guy like AJ, and that was AJ in his absolutely physical prime(talking about physical prime), unbeaten AJ, who was a force hungry at that time. Wilder is easy work even for old Klitschko. And best Klitschko version is the one with Manny, and people loves to forget that he was 39.7 when he fought Fury, and had a tons of personal problems with his wife and a newborn child. Suddenly he was old for AJ, but he wasn't old for Fury, when he was still 40 years old. That's what pisses me most with some of the post about Klitschko, Fury and AJ. And let's not forget Klitschko inactivity was not because of AJ, but was because of Fury ducked him. And i always believe that Klitschko bring a better and way more motivated version against AJ. Something that would have happen against Fury, but the ducker has other plans as usual.
Wilder about turns mod flight He as form for it Saying hes never ducked anyone Some one needs to remind his of the sasha and whyte situations Lmfao Wilder thinking all Boxing fans be like stevie wonder
If I was to list the amount of times Khan was wobbled/dancing/dropped by non punchers or average punchers I'd be here all day
"Wlad lands first" Kind of a silly statement because it implies that Wilder would be done at that point. But, Wilder showed tremendous heart to get up and carry on, repeatedly, in his fights v Fury. Whereas Wlad's heart and chin have both been questioned, in fact they might be his biggest critiques. Edit: Also, Deontay fights better when his opponent likes to fight on the back foot, like Wlad. I marginally favour Deontay.
Now youre forgetting Wlad hits 5 x as hard as Fury. Fury with all his attributes cannot punch anywhere near Wlad.
