His lightness probably gives him speed and stamina, so I doubt this is a good idea. Still, it’s good to try new things. Maybe it will work for him.
Well sod It somebody needs to call this for what it is,imagine the reaction if A ok sod it,may as well call it for what it is.Imagine if AJ,Whyte said that or using the same racial psy op that Wilder keeps ranting about what if it were Tyson Fury or Usyk who said that? Incredible how those comments about wanting a body on his record or his thing about Spilka has just been buried by the media as he’s had some fair exposure of late. Had Fury said that it would of been added to his story I’m sure and everyone would be suitably disappointed with him.
Remember him at his heaviest as there was a few threads on his weight and if it was down to performance enhancing drugs or not. Whatever the truth he did look good at that weight(think it was in the 330s)
I feel Wilder should be around 218-223 MAX. He would have less chances to gas out and more chance to maintain his stamina at least 90% of where he is currently. A move up in weigh to 235 or 240 would kill his speed and stamina and he would risk getting KTFO VS being the one delivering the KO blow. You can’t Windmill at 235 but you absolutely can be winded
Yeah 225 is ok, maybe 230. He's fought before at almost 230, it's not like he's never been over 212. But it has to be useful weight not Toney boobs.
This, this, this. Wilder is dangerous because he's a skinny, rangey, explosive puncher. Bulking to 245 is going to make him stronger, yeah - but also slower and he's going to gas faster.I'm not even sure if it would make him hit much harder. Who can we think of who is 245ish and built like a brick shithouse? Oh, yeah. AJ. But AJ has actual technique and a boxing brain that allows him to turn that bulk into effectiveness. When AJ has to fight at an elevated pace and he goes for broke he gasses FAST. So let's take AJ, take away all his technique and turn him into a go-for-broke slugger. He'd lose his next fight. Wilder's plan is dumb in the extreme. Fury didn't win due to weighing 250lb. He won because he's extremely skilled and unpredictible. Wilder should spend the time that he spends lifting weights, learing how to fire off a fast and accurate jab, instead. Fury is gonna absolutely embarrass a "I gotta be hulk" version of Wilder.
This is hilarious but he will never make it to 245. He tried to bulk up a few years ago and only made it to 230lbs. I do think he would probably be a little better 225-230ish. He still maintained his speed and endurance @ that weight and looked powerful 212 is seriously light for his frame,
Unless he sacked off boxing and took up power lifting with peds full time for a few years, it aint happening, not even 7lb of muscle will he put on
