Even if we take Wilder's base weight as 220, that's still a good 25 pounds of muscle to pack on a frame that's clearly predisposed towards leanness and has never been above 230. Does that sound feasible or wise to you? It certainly doesn't to me, nor to a whole bunch of other people in this thread, which is why he's rightfully being ridiculed for his statement. It's not a case of Wilder never being given credit for anything, but a case of Wilder saying something stupid again and being called out on it.

Like I said above, he could have simply held his hands up and said, "Sorry guys, I screwed up and came in too light. I'll aim to come in at a healthier weight next time," and that'd be that, but he has to take it to the next level of stupidity, and not only whine about something that he had complete control over (his weight in the first fight), but then throw out this ludicrous figure of 245 that's clearly either completely hot air or an open admission that he's going to take drugs (since I assume he doesn't plan to come into the ring grossly overweight).

He just needs to drink 10 pints of beer every day for a month and he'll get into 245 pounds. Easy.

A 33 year-old top athlete is not going to add 30 pounds of muscle into his body during remainder of his life unless sticking 1000 mg of testosterone in his ass on weekly basis for a couple of years. And following a heavy lifting body-building routine while doing it.

Wilder is just talking nonsense to get noticed.

Wilder may have a dieting problem, and he may train a little to much. However, this is nothing like Canelo. Heavyweights don’t cut to make weight. He has no reason to dehydrate himself.

I read this in Wilder’s accent.
