Deontay Wilder has good size, skill, speed and power. He reminds me a bit of a young Riddick Bowe but I haven't seen if he has Bowe's in fighting ability. He is ranked 51 by boxrec. I would like to see him fight a top 50 opponent, or even 75.. So who do you think he should fight? I think he and David Price could be interesting. For the first time in his career it could be a guy he could actually have a real shot losing to but he has a real shot at also defeating IMO. Price has fought the slightly better opposition WIlder has fought more guys.
One other fighter might give him a decent tussle is David Rodriquese. The have fought a common oppent and both stopped him in the third. Rodriquese has a few more fights but a knife stabbing and knee injuries have slowed his career lately maybe one or two tuneups and a fight between Wilder and him could be interesting. ALthough I would pick Wilder in this one. I would have to think Rodriquese would be a step up in competition.

David Price would put Windmiller on a stretcher.

Estrada is smallish and can't punch but he's pretty well known in the states so he'd be an ideal "step up". Malik Scott would be an even bigger step up...almost too big. He's full of talent and confidence at the moment so I'm not sure if he'd be worth it in Wilder's eyes...

    All beat him IMO.
A fight with Chisora would be fun, see how Wilder deals with constant pressure.

I'd be amazed if even one from that list was to be made.

    Wilder is an absolute disgrace.

    Chisora would actually waste him.

"who should a decent rate opponent be for him?'

    Decent in what way?

Decent for improving his status? (nowhere to go but up, so pretty much ANYONE.)

Decent for helping him learn? - Someone fast & aggressive, but not too much power. Jennings comes to mind, but why would Jennings take the fight?

Decent for making a good fight for the fans? Some prospect with equal power. Boytsov would be swell. - 'Aint gonna' happen, though.

    -------------

Wilder's next few opponents, if ODLH can deliver on his promise, will likely be B-level guys with barely recognizable names and very little power. That will be fine with me, as long as they are competent fighters that can force Wilder to work on his defense.

    I'd like to

A solid, fringe contender like sherman williams, even someone like Michael Sprott. Both guys will beat him of course...

Someone in the top 50 would be nice. Sosnowski or Travis Walker maybe.

This would actually give us a clue whether Wilder is for real
